Athena is pregnant

Athena

I woke up in a white room that had a huge AK symbol on it. This is the symbol of a hospital my dad owns alongside a business partner. Why am I here? I felt pangs of pain rush into my head. Shoot! I felt so heavy, I couldn't move.

"Thena, you are awake?" My mom called. She looked so pale and stressed. In all my 26-year life, I have never seen her like that. Her usual bright red lips had lost color.

I tried to sit up when I noticed my huge bump and a sharp pain piercing my lower belly. I yelped at the unexpected pain.

My mom pressed a button by the bed I was lying on to alert the doctor, and she rubbed my back to soothe my pain.

"What is going on, Mom?" I resisted the urge to yell. "Why am I in pain? Do I have kwashiorkor, or is there a being in me?"

"I will answer your questions right after your delivery, right now, Thena. I need to be strong and get through this." My mom patted my hair softly. The doctors and nurses flooded the room.

The nurses arranged the instruments they were going to use around me.

A young doctor came forward. She placed her stethoscope on my chest to feel my heartbeat.

"Move your feet, ma'am." She requested, and I raised my legs. She turned to look at the other doctors, and my action shocked them.

She withdrew to her former position.

"Miss Allen." The person who seemed like the head doctor called me. "Do you want to stay awake while we conduct your surgery or do we put you to sleep?"

"Hell, no." The pains I was feeling had subsided. "There is no way I am going under a knife or a knife is going through me doc and where the heck is the man that made me this way?"

My mom signaled for the doctor to move away. "I don't know what's up with you, Thena. Let's get through this with a c-section and discuss it after the surgery."

"We are doing things my way here, mom. Who impregnated me? That motherfucking Regan King? Why is he not here? Why am I doing this alone?" I yelled this time.

I am one of those rebellious kids. My siblings are so lucky. I am the first kid. They got to follow my path if they wanted to, but they didn't. Sad!

"I should ask you these questions, Athena. Why are you yelling at me? I will just call your father and tell him about your situation."

"Suit yourself, mom," I said nonchalantly, knowing I had offended her with my attitude, but I didn't care since she was here to impose whatever my dad's plan was on me.

My mom left the room to talk to my father outside. The lead doctor moved close to me and he muttered.

"Miss Allen, you do not have the strength to have this child without a c-section. We had to induce labor so you could wake up from your nine-month-long coma."

"I was asleep for nine months?" That's scary. How could I be in a coma for nine months? Jokes on him, though, who says I don’t have the strength.

"Yes, ma." He replied to me, thinking he had convinced me. "So, do we proceed with the surgery?"

"There is no way. I am having this baby normally. If you listen to anyone else here telling you to operate me, I will ruin you." I glared at him.

"I think we can wait till your husband is here." The lead doctor left with the other doctors, leaving the nurses to run some tests on me.

"What did he mean by my husband?" The nurse beside me gave a half-smile, and she continued with what she was doing.

A nurse took me out for a walk in the hospital garden. I needed to think about what was going on.

I refused to speak to my mom, so she remained in the VIP hospital I was in before. I felt some pains in my legs and my stomach again.

The nurse led me back to my room when I told her I was tired. We took the lift instead of the stairs this time.

I opened the door to my room and this pair of brown eyes met mine. I had never met this man before.

I came out of the room to check if I was in the right room. Sure I was.

I went in again. The brown-eyed man could not take his eyes off my stomach. Was he my baby's daddy? I hope so. At least my kid would not be ugly.

“Creed, this is Athena.” My mom introduced me to him. She is my mom. Why isn't she introducing him to me first?

He flashed a million-dollar smile at my mom. The universe should bless me with this handsome man. I could see through his eyes that he had been so respectful to my mom.

“Athena, this is your husband, the second son of the King’s family.” She introduced him, not taking her eyes off him. She might marry him herself at this point.

He is my husband and the father of my baby. The universe loved me but The Kings, that name rings a bell. He is Regan’s brother, that ugly hunch-looking animal.

Thank goodness Creed looked nothing like him. How come I knew nothing about him? I did some digging on the Kings.

“Athena.” A powerful voice called me, pulling me out of my thoughts. It was warm and inviting at the same time. I was left in the room with Creed.

“Yes, daddy.” I palmed my mouth after I heard myself. “Ahem, yeah.”

“We have a lot to talk about, I don’t know what you were after, having a baby for me but I am sure after you get to see who I am you’d regret you didn’t go to my brother as your father had planned.”

“I see you do not differ from your older brother. Your father didn’t raise you, boys, right?” He just provoked me. This two-faced man acted so cute in front of my mom and ruined my mood

He kept his cool, “I appreciate it if you don’t compare me to my brother or my father.”

“I don’t do what I am told to do.” I laid down roughly on my bed, forgetting I was pregnant. I groaned, and he rushed to me.

“Are you well?” He examined me, I felt something trickle down from my insides. “Gosh, Athena you are bleeding.” That was the last thing I heard him say before I closed my eyes.
