Gianna

I stare at Dmitry’s messages for a little longer than necessary before tossing my phone onto the bed.

We need to talk about last night.

Of course we do. Apparently, embarrassing myself in front of half the bar wasn’t enough. Now I have to deal with the consequences too.

I drag myself out of bed, rubbing my temples as I make my way towards the bathroom. After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I stare at my reflection for a moment.

Jesus Christ.

I look like I’ve been through a natural

  • My Pretty Little Kitten    Ninety-Eight: You’ve Changed

DmitryI was beginning to regret asking Candace to make herself comfortable. Not that I particularly minded her company, but I had been hoping to spend the rest of the morning with Gianna, especially after the little progress we’d made earlier. I wasn’t expecting everything to suddenly return to the way it used to be, but having her laugh in my arms again was enough to make me greedy for more.Unfortunately, Candace seemed to have forgotten that she was a guest in my house.I glanced at my phone when it began vibrating on the bedside table, and Marco's name appeared on the screen. I excused myself from the room, stepping into the hallway before answering.“What is it?”“Good morning to you too, sunshine.”I rolled my eyes, leaning against the wall. “What do you want, Marco?”“Is that how you speak to the man who has been trying to reach you for the past twenty minutes?”“Perhaps because I’ve been busy.”There was a brief silence before he chuckled. “Busy doing what?”“Something that d

  • My Pretty Little Kitten    Ninety-Seven: I’m Over It

Dmitry“If you're here to laugh at me, Gianna, I promise you that's the last thing on my mind.”She doesn't look at me as she leans against the bathroom cabinet, her curls falling messily around her face. I close the door behind me and move closer, crouching beside her while reaching for the strands of hair sticking to her damp cheek.“Are you alright?”She gives me a look that tells me exactly what she thinks of my question before turning back towards the toilet. I gather her hair away from her face, holding it back while she tries to settle her stomach. I don't think I've ever seen her this miserable, and although there's a part of me that wants to tease her about last night, I know better than to try it.When she's finally done, I reach for a towel and wet it under the tap before handing it to her. She takes it without saying anything, wiping her mouth before leaning back against the cabinet again.“Come on, sweetheart. Let's get you somewhere comfortable.”“I'm fine.”“You've just

After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I stare at my reflection for a moment.Jesus Christ.I look like I’ve been through a natural disaster. My curls are a mess, my eyes are puffy, and I have absolutely no business being around other human beings today. Especially not Dmitry Orlov.I change into a comfortable pair of shorts and an oversized shirt before heading downstairs. My stomach growls, reminding me that the last proper meal I had was probably yesterday afternoon.Maybe I can grab something from the kitchen and disappear before anyone notices. That’s the plan, anyway.Until I reach the last few steps and hear laughter

  • My Pretty Little Kitten    Ninety-Five: He’s My Boyfrieeeeeeeend

GiannaDmitry holds his arms out to me, pulling me right into his chest, and I can’t help but inhale his scent. God, I’ve missed everything about this silly man.Get a bloody grip, Gianna. He played you. He watched you struggle and laughed in your face.I shut my eyes, feeling them sting, and bite down on my lower lip. He’s most likely hiding something else, probably sneaking around with Candace. I can just feel it.“We need to talk, please.” His pleading voice sends a shiver down my spine, and holy shit, I feel my knees buckle.“We have nothing to discuss. You played me, Dmitry! And I was bloody foolish to believe you.”I turn to leave, but he catches me again. Luckily, this time, Braide steps between us.“Dmitry, Gianna has had so much to drink already. I don’t think this is the best time for a conversation.”He looks between Braide and me, finally realizing we’d come together. He steps back, frowning. “What’s going on here?”I roll my eyes. He didn’t see me asking what he was doing

  • My Pretty Little Kitten    Ninety-Four: There’s No Baby

GiannaI am drunk.Completely wasted.Which is probably the most irresponsible thing I've done in a long time, especially considering I'm only on the last day of my period. My flow had been ridiculously heavy all week, and mixing that with alcohol was a terrible decision.Unfortunately, terrible decisions seem to be the only ones I'm capable of making lately."Braide, pleaseeee," I whine, drawing out the word as I latch onto his arm. I bat my lashes at him with the most pitiful pout I can manage. "I want ice cream."He lets out a quiet laugh, shaking his head as he steadies me before I can stumble into the sand."You've had enough sugar and enough alcohol for one night.""No can do."“You're being mean.”Roxanne had been the one to drag us toward the bonfire, practically vibrating with excitement as she'd announced there was music, food, and enough people to make the night interesting. I'd followed because saying no required more energy than I had, and somewhere between arriving here

  • My Pretty Little Kitten    Ninety-Three: Harm My Baby

DmitryPregnant. The word loops endlessly in my head as we make our way to the bonfire, drowning out every laugh, every conversation, every crackle of burning wood. She's pregnant, and the baby is mine. It has to be mine.Did she know before she left? Was that why she'd walked away without looking back? Had she already known she was carrying my child and still decided I wasn't worth staying for?The thought twists something ugly inside my chest, but another follows just as quickly, cutting even deeper. She didn't leave because of a mistake.God, listen to yourself. It wasn't some harmless screw-up or drunken lapse in judgment. What I did hurt her in a way apologies never could, and pretending otherwise only made me sound pathetic. Even so, I couldn't stop wondering why she'd given up on us without a fight, why she'd looked at everything we'd built together and decided it wasn't enough to survive what I'd done.Maybe she'd been done with me long before that night, and I'd just handed h
