Heart thrumming in my ears, I pulled Vicky aside. “ I can't find my wife. Vicky, I can't find her.”

She taps me assuringly on the shoulder. “ She might just be hiding and too shy to show up, or it could be that she is doing a lady's business.”

I shake off her hand, worries speeding up my heartbeat, and spreading through my chest. “ It's not that. Not really. She left in search of the bathroom earlier and insisted on going alone. It's been half an hour already and there's no sign of her.”

Her brows furrowed instantly. She snapped her fingers and a few of the men on guard hurried up, and surrounded us. “ Let me handle this,” she says and withdraws with them.

Disconcerted, I motioned at the head of my guard. “ Do me a little favour, will you? My wife has an unnatural tendency of going missing at the most inopportune moments. I'm dying here. Find her.”

He gives me a nod. “ Sure, I was worried that might happen, so I put a tracker on her.”
