LOGIN"If my body pays for it, I can part with my virginity," Nicki thought, seated right before a pimp, with her future in her trembling hands. It was supposed to be a one off deal. But the tides swept her into the stranger's arms a second time, and then a third, locked by the seal of marriage. While she wants their marriage to remain a secret, Aaron is too possessive to let her be. Will they reach a compromise? Just how far is he willing to go inorder to keep what's his? Their story calls, will you answer?

Easier said than done.
I watched my best friend in bed, curled into the arms of the only guy I ever liked.
Ethan.
Being in the same study group, Lisa didn't think he was good enough for anyone. Until I told her I wanted to ask him out.
I gathered the shattered pieces of my heart, shut the door on them and lumbered downstairs. Between anger and the hurt chipping away at pieces of my heart is the fact they're both my friends.
Lisa, the cheerleader who's been more of a sister to me.
Ethan, the nerd I found too hard to ignore.
Both in bed the same day I asked him out on a date.
I didn't wait for her to come downstairs. I knew she would bolt after me, so I went home straight with nerve breaking exhaustion.
Should I curl up and cry in a corner? Hell no.
When you're a foster kid, you don't get those privileges.
A minute after I got home, her call came in.
" Hello, Nicki... listen, it wasn't planned. It just happened..."
I imagined her gesticulating while speaking, and him on the bed watching her pull those excuses into my deafened ears.
" I gotta go," I spoke calmly, reining in my anger. By tomorrow I'll be fine. Until them, I hate everyone right now.
" Nicki, we are still friends right?" She probed, voice a little above a whisper.
" Maybe tomorrow," I thought and hung up.
I'm back here in this government assigned shelter. What was once a haven has become a nightmare.
I thought I had the best foster dad in the world until he was snooping around, prying my phone, and peeping into my room through the keyhole.
An ass!
The next morning, I'm fixing breakfast when I heard him cough.
“ Nicki, you will be eighteen in two days. Anything you want for your birthday?” He approached my side of the kitchen counter and placed his hand on mine. He moves a finger in circles, tracing invisible lines on the back of my palm.
Honestly, I'm resisting the urge to wack his head with a fry pan. After what he did few days ago, I'm planning his funeral.
So, here's the gist.
He sneaked into my room. I assumed it was Maya, a younger foster kid. While few of us have separate room, others, especially the younger ones, share, and most times Maya comes to mine.
He crawled under the sheets. It took his calloused large hands to alert me of the intruder.
“ Wanted to give you a massage,” the fat old piggy brute blurted.
“ Ohh!” my lips tilted in disdain. That was the beginning of my nightmare. Today, he's tone deaf to the dripping venom in my voice.
A breath away from me, he continues. “ Whatever it is, I can arrange it to be bought.”
I feigned a smile. Exaggerated. “ You have done enough. I might be leaving few days after.” I announced and watched him grow pale.
“ But you can stay as long as you want. This is your home now.”
I dramatically touched my heart. “ That is so kind of you. I will be eighteen. It's only appropriate that I leave as soon as possible.”
He grabbed that opportunity. Looked sideways and inched closer, right behind me.
He grabbed my ass. I jerked at the unexpected touch and clenched my fist. He pressed my well rounded butt, leaned in and took a deep breath.
It felt nauseating and different.
No one has touched me in such sensitive places before. I went through high school without any form of romance. Ethan would have been my first.
Besides, with the way he guarded me from boys, I didn't expect him to be such a jerk.
“ I could give you your very first experience.”
I frowned. “ This jerk knows I'm still a virgin?”
I turned and wriggled out. “ The kids might be watching,” I spoke flirtatiously.
He chuckled. “ Later then?”
I shrugged and watched his pot belly take the lead.
“ Gross!”
He didn't look so terrible in my eyes until these past few days.. Now I can't imagine him being anything order than a pig.
I am yet to round off all the necessary requirements for my college admission. But I haven't mentioned it to anyone, except Ethan. We applied to the same school.
Since I don't have money for hostel accommodation, I also applied for the Devinsky free accommodation for indigent students. Hopefully, I can sort out myself before graduation.
Right now, I have few days to the deadline for my acceptance fees, and the tuition for my first year.
I practical have no idea of how I'm going to get the money.
Raising the complimentary card Ethan gave me days before he made his choice, I dialed the number.
He said they might have a job. No idea what kind of job, but I have to give it my all. It's my only hope right now.
Following some direction, I met with the card owner in a restaurant.
One glance at me, and he nodded, somewhat satisfied.
" You will do just good. I have an important guest. He just arrived. You will be serving him tonight."
It didn't sink in at first. I imagined that the restaurant needed private services for VIPs. Something within that line, but a rough guess quickly snapped my eyes right back at him.
" What kind of services do you mean?"
His face contorted into a frown. His heavily built figure looked like a flood about to drown me in its waves. But his remark made my heart shutdown.
Two weeks later, morning sickness hit home. With Mr. Li's funeral around the corner, I kept it to myself. Unsure of whether my guess is right.Last thing I want to do is raise Aaron's hope only to dash it into pieces. On the eve of the funeral, thunderstorm hit home like a rage of the sky. Lightening tearing through the heavens like an entirely different shot of its own. For brief seconds, it would draw a map over the face of the sky, blending with the background fit of the clouds like an art piece. With one of the bed sheets draped over my shoulders downwards, I peeped through a parting in the curtain. Aaron had ensured the windows were down before retiring to bed, but it did nothing to prevent my shuddering breath at every class.“ It's going to be wet tomorrow,” I muttered under my breath.“ Mm-hmmm.” Came an unexpected reply.“ You're up?”“ Yes. Felt your side and it was empty.”I dragged my feet, shambling towards him, while the sheets dogged my steps. “ Come here,” he said a
Sneaking out of the house, I dragged Aaron to the club where we met each other for the second time. I recall he had been drugged. “ Do you remember this?” I raised my left wrist to him, showing him the Rolex watch he had gifted me. He shakes his head. “ You still have this?”“ Yes, I still do.”“ Does that still work?”“ Yep!”“ Isn't it a little old?”“ Nope!” I maintained, running my hands around the edges. “ Don't you think you need a new one…”I cut in sharply, “ no, Aaron. I don't need a new one. I need this.”Softening a little, I took a deep breath and sighed. “ You told me I had the same birthday with your late little sister. It was also your first gift to me. Nothing can replace it. Nothing.”“ Sorry, Mrs. Devinsky…”I punched his belly quickly, before anyone could make sense of what he said. “ Forgive me. That was a slip.” He said, coughing. For a moment, I was worried I might have punched too hard. I take off his hood, and felt his face. “ I'm sorry. It must have hurt a
Olive and beige, I chose. Not to fit into the background or stand out, but to remain me. Rough winds greeted me when I stepped out of the car, whipping my curls against my face. The graduation gown responded to the wooing of the wind, swaying in every direction it called. Heels clicked on the marble walkway. Heavy footsteps fell with a thud that made my eyes follow the shoes. The scrap of metal in the distance fell in sync with the honks of excited parents and delighted guardians. This is not a matriculation. It is a convocation. But I couldn't have imagined I would be attending it alone. The end of a four-year journey. (Nicki)It was stormy outside when her presence was announced. Maya and I shared a look. Her forehead wrinkled, and her lips twisted in displeasure. “ No way she is here because of the baby,” she summed. “ That's not like the vixen.”“ Careful now. She's a member of the Devinsky family. It's only proper for her to be here.” I countered. Knowing Maya's temper, nothing is going to stop her from striking a hurtful blow at Lisa if I so much as showed signs of support. I waited for her entrance, my eyes lingering on the door with mixed feelings. It's been awhile since we saw each other. “ What's keeping her outside?” I muttered, more to myself than to Maya whose attention had reverted on the yarn. She wants to make a cap for little Aaron. She scrunched her nose, glanced at the door, and shrugged. “ She might have bumped into Mr. Devinsky on her way, and chose a different mission.” She taunted, avoiding my gaze.I fight the urge to confirm what she had just said. I trust Aaron. He wouldn'

I skipped a heartbeat. Shooting up to my feet, my adrenaline shot up. I dashed out of the door, calling out for the doctor who was already running towards me. “ Something is wrong. Something is wrong.” I said in a breath, heartbeat drumming in my ears like it's the apocalypse. He sidestep me and or
“ What's the matter, Aaron?” My voice hollowed out, fright crawling into the centre of my heart. Something feels too wrong… so off about him. I clutch the sides of his shirt, closing in like it could make him open up to me. Lips sealed shut, he stared blankly into space.“ Honey,” I called in a pan
The request burnt on my eardrums, like hot coals. My gaze hardened, jaw clenched and eyes frozen in space. Numbed and speechless, her words re-echoed in my head. It felt like fate itself is telling me that I can't handle what's coming. I can't stop our eventual separation. The muscles around my hea
