Sophia’s POV

I groaned and dragged myself out of bed.

The bathroom was bigger than my entire bedroom back home with marble countertops, a shower with like ten different settings.

Towels so fluffy they felt like clouds.

I stood under the hot water for a long time, letting it wash over me. Trying to wash away the memories, shame and confusion but who was I kidding?

Those damn orbs!

I got dressed into something comfortable, Jeans that actually fit, a cute top with light makeup. I even curled my hair, hoping that if I looked put together, I'd feel put together.

I didn't.

But I looked good at least that was something.

I found Diana in the kitchen sipping coffee and scrolling through her phone.

"Good morning sweetheart!" She looked up and beamed at me. "You look beautiful ready for your first day?"

I nodded not trusting my voice.

"I have a car waiting for you outside. The driver knows where to take you." She stood up and kissed my cheek. "Have a wonderful day darling."

I forced a smile and walked out the door.

The car ride to Westbridge University was short ten minutes or maybe fifteen.

I spent the whole time staring out the window, my stomach in knots.

The campus was beautiful.

Old brick buildings covered in ivy, green lawns with students lounging on blankets. A fountain in the middle of the quad and trees with leaves just starting to change color.

It looked like something out of a movie.

I stood at the edge of the quad clutching my schedule feeling completely lost.

"Hey! You okay?"

I turned around.

A guy was walking toward me, tall with messy brown hair and blue eyes wearing a smile that looked genuine.

"Sorry," he said stopping in front of me. "You just looked a little lost. First day?"

"Yeah." I laughed nervously. "Is it that obvious?"

"Just a little." He grinned. "I'm Ryan. I'm a sophomore here I know my way around if you need help finding anything."

"Sophia," I said. "And yeah I could use some help. I can't make heads or tails of this campus map."

He laughed and took my schedule.

"Business Strategy 301 huh? That's one of the tough ones. Professor Sinclair's class."

My heart stopped.

Hmm…Sinclair.

"Professor Sinclair?" I repeated my voice coming out strange.

"Yeah. He's intense, kinda scary actually but he’s good at what he does." Ryan shrugged. "I'll walk you there if you want."

I nodded not trusting myself to speak.

Ryan walked me across campus talking the whole way.

He was easy to talk to, laid back and friendly. The kind of guy who made you feel comfortable right away.

"So where are you from?" he asked.

"Just outside the city live with my dad."

"You live on campus?"

"No." I shook my head. "I'm living with my mom she lives nearby."

He nodded. "That's cool. Family's important."

I almost laughed at that.

Family was important but my family was a mess.

"I'm in the dorms," he said. "It's not bad. Roommate's a little weird but hey that's college."

We reached the building with mordern glass and steel, big windows and a sign that said "School of Business" above the entrance.

"This is it," Ryan said. "Business building.

Room 301. You're on your own from here."

"Thanks Ryan."

"No problem." He smiled. "Hey maybe we can grab lunch later? I can show you around some more."

"Sure," I said. "That sounds nice."

"Great I'll text you." He pulled out his phone. "What's your number?"

I gave it to him and watched him walk away.

I smiled to myself and walked inside.

The classroom was already half full.

I found a seat near the middle not too close to the front and not too far in the back just right.

Students filtered in around me.

Chattering.

Laughing.

Looking nervous and excited and everything I wasn't.

I pulled out my notebook and pen trying to look like I belonged here.

The clock ticked closer to nine.

The door opened suddenly making the room go silent .

A man walked in.

Tall.

Broad-shouldered wearing a dark suit with a crisp white shirt underneath. His hair was slicked back.

Salt and pepper.

His eyes swept the room dark and instead.

My blood turned to ice.

No.

No, no, no.

It couldn't be.

But it was.

The stranger from the club.

The man I'd slept with.

He was standing at the front of the classroom, looking at all of us, and I wanted the floor to swallow me whole.

He placed his briefcase on the desk turning to face the class.

"Good morning," he said with his voice was deep and measured. "My name is Professor Thorne Sinclair I'll be teaching Business Strategy this semester."

Professor Sinclair.

Professor.

Sinclair.

I couldn't breathe.

My vision tunneled the whole room spun around me making me grip the edge of my desk, trying to stay upright.

He was talking something about course requirements, office hours and grading policies.

I couldn't hear a single word.

All I could see was his face.

All I could remember was his hands on my body. His lips on my neck and his voice whispering in my ear.

"You're so fucking wet."

"You taste like sin."

I closed my eyes willing myself to disappear.

When I opened them again, he was looking at me. His eyes met mine across the room and for a split second, I saw it.

Recognition.

Then it was gone his face was a mask, calm, controlled and professional.

Like he'd never seen me before.

Like I was just another student.

My heart was pounding so hard I thought it might burst out of my chest.

This was a nightmare, I mean it had to be a nightmare.

But it wasn't.

It was real.

And it was just the beginning.

  • My Professor, My Stepfather, My Sin   11

Sophia's POVThree days. It’s been three days since that humiliating night, since he'd walked into my room, watched me touch myself, called me a whore, and left me unfinished on the bed.Three days of avoiding him like my life depended on it.I'd become a ghost in the house. I woke up early before anyone else was awake, and crept down the stairs like a thief. I made sure to leave for campus before Thorne even came down for breakfast. I came home early and refuse to come down for dinner making sure to lock my room so mum won’t be a bother.I didn't look at him, speak to him or even breathe in his direction. If we happened to be in the same room, I kept my eyes fixed on the floor, on the wall, on anything that wasn't his face. The one time I'd accidentally made eye contact with him at the dinner table my stomach had lurched so violently I'd had to excuse myself.Diana had noticed. She'd asked if I was sick, if something was wrong. I'd told her I was just stressed about school. She bou

Sophia's POVMy heart dropped into my stomach.I froze. My hand stilled between my thighs and breath caught in my throat. He was standing in the doorway, his tall frame silhouetted against the dim light of the hallway. His eyes were dark, unreadable, fixed on me with an intensity that made my skin prickle.I opened my mouth to speak but no words came out.He stepped into the room and closed the door behind him the soft click of the latch echoed in the silence."Did I ask you to fucking stop?"I stared at him my brain struggling to process what was happening. "I—you—""Continue.""Thorne I can't—""You can." He walked toward the bed each step slow and deliberate. "and you will now continue Continue….Keep touching yourself. Let me watch.” he ordered, his voice still cold, but now edged with something that made my stomach flip a mix of authority and a dark, almost predatory interest. My face burned as my body was trembling, caught somewhere between embarrassment and arousal. I should h

Thorne's POVI couldn't focus. The papers were spread across my desk, numbers and reports blurring together into meaningless shapes. I'd been staring at the same page for an hour and I hadn't absorbed a single word.I leaned back in my chair rubbing my eyes with the heels of my palms. The clock on the wall read 2:07 AM.I'd been in my study for hours, trying to get work done or rather distract myself. It wasn't working.Nothing was working.I hadn't been able to finish half of what I needed to do not since that night. Not since I'd seen her walk into that club, all wide eyes and trembling lips, looking like she was drowning and desperate for someone to pull her under.I'd had one-night stands before. Plenty of them but none of them were like her, none of them made me feel like I was losing my mind and haunted me the way she did.Sophia.Just thinking her name sent a jolt through me. I could still feel her skin beneath my hands. Still taste her on my lips. Still hear those soft litt

Sophia's POVI sat down in the chair across from him with my bag clutched in my lap like a shield the leather was cold beneath my thighs. He didn't say anything at first he continued working like I was invisible before he finally set the pen down letting out a breath and leaning back in his chair watching me with those dark, unreadable eyes making the silence stretched between us thick and suffocating.I stared at a spot on the wall behind him anywhere but his face."So," he said finally. "Are you going to tell me what's going on with you?""Nothing.""Nothing." He repeated the word like he didn't believe it. "You couldn't answer a simple question in class. You were staring off into space like you were a million miles away and you expect me to believe it's nothing?""Yes."He leaned forward his elbows resting on the desk. "I'm not in the mood for games.""Neither am I." I finally looked at him. "I'm fine It was just a long night and I didn't sleep well.""Is that all?""What else

Sophia's POVI found a bench near the fountain and sat down, trying to collect myself. The afternoon air was cool against my skin. Students walked past in groups laughing and talking, their lives so normal and carefree. I watched them with a hollow feeling in my chest."Sophia! Hey!"I looked up Ryan was jogging toward me with a grin on his face next to him was a girl with dark curly hair and bright green eyes wearing a colorful sweater that matched her energy."Hey," I say forcing a smile.Ryan stopped in front of me. "I was hoping I'd run into you this is Ashley she’s in your Business Strategy class too."Ashley waved. "Hey! I saw you in Professor Sinclair's class the other day. You were sitting in the middle row right?""Yeah that was me.""I remember because you looked like you wanted to be anywhere else." She laughed. "Trust me I felt the same way. That class is brutal.""It's that bad?""I told you Sinclair is intense," Ryan said.Ashley nodded. "He's known for being super str

Sophia's POVI barely slept.Every time I closed my eyes, I saw his face those dark eyes boring into me his hand on my wrist. And my body betrayed me every single time.I hated it.I hated how my skin tingled at the memory of his touch. I hated that even now knowing who he was, knowing he was my mother's husband and my professor—some sick, twisted part of me still wanted him.It was wrong so fucking wrong. He was my stepfather. He was my professor.I shouldn't want him I couldn't want him but my body didn't care about should or shouldn't. I tossed and turned all night, the sheets tangled around my legs, my mind racing in circles. By the time the sun came up, I felt like I'd been hit by a truck.I dragged myself out of bed and into the bathroom. The mirror showed me exactly how I felt dark circles under my eyes, pale skin, hair a mess.I splashed cold water on my face and got dressed into a simple Jeans and sweater pairing it with a comfortable shoe.I grabbed my bag and headed down
