Chapter 38. Heart to Heart Conversation
Ari knew that I loved walking on the beachfront; it calms me. He asked me to meet him at 6 am the next day to have a heart-to-heart conversation with him. I am a morning person; I guess he knew that already; otherwise, he would not have asked me to see him that early. Alfred and Ben are having lunch with Lieutenant Coronel Roger Matthis at the cafeteria of the Army base in Monterey. Camp Roberts is a California National Guard post in central California, located in Monterey. This camp is a training center under the leadership of Lt Cor Matthis, who was a good friend and classmate of Ari at West Point Academy in Virginia.Ari was a soft-spoken man, a brilliant strategist, and a good friend.
