Chapter 18- Roses

Lily's POV

My forehead creased when I saw Josh outside of the Harrison building after I got out of work. He immediately flashed a sweet smile after seeing me. He walked towards me and when he stopped, he handed me three pieces of red rose. My lips parted as I lifted my eyes to look at him.

“Josh…”

“I want to formally court you, Lily. I know you’re not ready but I’m willing to wait.”

I swallowed hard and slowly shook my head. I want to politely turn him down and I will definitely do it now. I was about to speak when I heard gasps behind me.

My eyes widened when I saw my workmates from my previous department. All of them are looking at me with either disgust and hatred. Shit!

“Look who’s here! A trash and a garbage collector. How’s life after being fired, Josh? And you, Lily. How does it feel to have boys flocking around you? You’re really collecting boys, huh?”

“What a slut! First, the president and then now Josh…”

“Shut up! Will you stop spreading rumors about Lily? You don’t know her
