Chapter 2- Rogue Harrison

Lily's POV

6 months later…

I slowly caressed grandpa's picture on my table. He's smiling sweetly with my late grandfather. They looked so happy and carefree. I love how strong their friendship is.

Two months after I married Rogue, grandpa died. He walked me down the aisle riding a wheelchair. He looked so happy that time and I found a reason why I didn't regret my decision in spite of the bad relationship between me and my husband.

Rogue hates me because he thought I convinced his grandfather to push this wedding. We could've easily divorce after grandpa's death, but I'm not letting it happen. I promised grandpa to make this marriage work. He talked to me one last time before he died in my arms. He made me promise him that I'll stay married with his grandson no matter what. I don't wanna fail him. I don't wanna break my promise to him.

"Lily, are you done with the packaging of our new product?"

I quickly nodded to my senior. "Yes, ma'am. It's now ready for approval."

Her forehead creased. "You didn't show it to me, Lily."

I cleared my throat. "I-I did, ma'am. You said I just have to change the font and directly send it to the CEO for approval."

She gritted her teeth. "And what if the CEO doesn't like the style? You should've consulted me again, Lily!"

I looked down. "S-Sorry… I won't do it again."

I've been working in the production department of Utopia for almost four months now, but my colleagues still don't like me. I understand. They thought someone backed me up. Though, it's partly true. Rogue doesn't have a choice but to approve my application and hire me because I'm his wife. A secret wife, actually.

I heaved a sigh and sat on my chair after she left. For four months, Rogue never visited me in my department. He hates me so much that we're living in different condo units although it's the same tower.

I feel so lonely. I feel so useless but thinking about grandpa's happy face cheers me up. He's the reason behind all of these so it's fine. I'm fine. I'll be fine.

When it's lunchtime, I eat alone in the canteen and take a walk after. Playing with my company ID, I'm walking slowly in the garden to help myself digest while looking around.

I froze when I saw a familiar car parking in front of the building.

A familiar man wearing a suit and sunglasses came out. He looked dashing in his outfit. He screams authority and perfection. His clean cut hair dances everytime he moves. His sharp jaws are too much to handle. His thick eyebrows and eyelashes compliments each other and his lips. It was so red. Bloody red. I wonder what it tastes like. He never kissed me even on our wedding day.

He opened the door of the passenger seat and an elegant woman came out wearing a revealing dress.

I swallowed hard. That scene is ripping my heart apart but what can I do? She's the woman he truly loves. He was just forced to marry me. He doesn't feel anything towards me.

I turned my back as my aching heart continued to beat at a fast pace. Insanely in love. That's what I am.

For six months, I constantly witnessed Rogue and his girlfriend Mari's sweetness. In front of his condo unit and even in the company. They're even all over the magazine and the news. His parents kept on scolding him for that but he's too stubborn. I can't blame him anyway. And my mom. She wants me to divorce him but I can't.

I felt suffocated. I want to confront him. He's having an affair while we're married but I'm not entitled to meddle with his personal business. I don't even have a place in his heart.

When I went back to my table, I saw the manager of our department waiting for me. As usual, she's glaring.

"Where have you been, Lily?"

I bowed my head. "I'm sorry, ma'am. I had an indigestion."

She rolled her eyes and threw a folder on my table. "This is ready for printing. Monitor the production since this is your design. Make sure that the production is smooth and perfect, Lily. The product is ready for distribution next week. Make sure nothing will go wrong."

I nodded and smiled. "Yes, ma'am!"

I knew my designs were good. I love art anyway.

I grabbed my bag and the folder. I have to go to the factory now for the printing of the product's box.

"Miss Lily!"

I smiled at the manager of the factory. Of course, he knows me.

"Mr. Tan, I hope I'm not interrupting something," I said and handed him the folder.

He chuckled. "Not at all. Is this for printing? Your boss is really enslaving you, huh? You could've just sent this to my email."

I smiled again. "It's fine, Mr. Tan. I actually want to explain the details personally and watch the first print. This is my own design."

"Really? You got a talent, Miss Lily."

I chuckled. "Thank you."

"Come on, let's try one first to know if you're satisfied."

"Thank you, but… Is it really okay?"

He smiled sweetly. "You are our VIP. C'mon, Miss Lily."

The first print was perfect. I am beyond satisfied so I immediately left after the negotiation. I went straight home to my condo with an exhausted body.

I dropped myself on the couch and squeezed my eyes closed. I'm always drained after work. I don't know if this is all Rogue's doing but my superiors are strangely unfair to me. They always make me work overtime.

Because of exhaustion, I fell asleep on the couch and woke up in the middle of the night with a grumbling stomach.

I groaned and glanced at the time. I don't have anything to eat so I don't have a choice but to look for an open convenience store. I'm craving for noodles.

I grabbed my hoodie and wallet before I went out of my unit. It's cold, so I'm hugging myself. I didn't even realize it's raining a bit so I frowned, realizing I don't have an umbrella.

I found an open convenience store nearby. I bought instant noodles and ate them inside. I was ready to leave when a tall man entered the convenience store and his eyes immediately found mine. He gritted his teeth and his brooding eyes were sharp.

"Ah!" I flinched when he rushed to me and grabbed my wrist. It hurts!

He's also wearing a hoodie and he looked so sleepy.

"What the fck is your problem, woman?"

My throat went dry. "Rogue…"

He clenched his jaws. "Did you really exist to piss me off, huh? Fck! I fcking hate a woman like you! Attention seeker!"

That… hurts!
