54. Repay

"Honey, aren't you awake yet?" Matilda opened the door to Cassandra's room. She felt suspicious because since her return one week ago, the girl had locked herself in her room, and her face looked gloomy.

Matilda thought she wouldn't bother Cassandra. She wanted to give the girl time to be alone so that her mind would be calmer. But more than a week later, the girl was still slumped in her sadness. Enough, Matilda couldn't wait any longer. For her, Cassandra was considered to be her biological daughter. She really cared about her nephew's happiness.

Cassandra just stretched a little and then closed her eyes again.

"Casey, honey." Matilda sat on Cassandra's bed and stroked the girl's long hair.

"If you have a problem, talk to your mother. Mommy would be sad if you couldn't share your sadness with me."

"Mom," Cassandra's voice sounded hoarse. Her eyes were puffy, and her face looked pale.

"Drink this milk and then tell me, what is the problem that makes you like this?"
