Ryle

"Where have you been, Ryle? We’ve been waiting for you.”

I was disappointed to see this familiar group of people. It wasn’t the one I expected to welcome me at home. I had seen this scenario before, and I already knew the reason behind these late-night visits. My father and Alpha Glen were the alphas of the two most powerful packs in the land. If we could provide protection, then the Emerald pack could provide the means. They were looking forward to uniting the two packs, and what could be a more appropriate way than to impose a marriage between me and Kendra.

Dad stood up from his chair and tapped my shoulders.

“Kendra must be bored here listening to random pack business. Why don’t you take her outside for some fresh air and a good conversation? There are still things I need to discuss with Alpha Glen. Alone.

“Yes, Dad,” I uttered. I offered my hand to Kendra, who was smiling from ear to ear as she took my hand. I curtsied in front of the two alphas before leading Kendra outside
