Raymond, a handsome young man with a built physique, wore a bright, cheerful smile. Tonight was a sacred evening for him and Rahma, his wife—their fourth wedding anniversary.
Raymond was merely a car salesman at a dealership notorious for slow sales, as they sold imported cars from China.
Damn it… Still halfway home, Raymond was forced to pull over and take shelter. The light drizzle had suddenly turned into a heavy downpour.
Out of nowhere, his old phone chimed with an incoming message. Raymond assumed it was his wife checking in, as it was already past nine in the evening. But when he opened it, the message came from an unknown number.
“Hmm… Who sent this? Why is there an image attached?” Raymond wondered.
A sudden jolt went through him as he opened the three photos. His eyes widened; his heart hammered against his ribs.
The photos showed a breathtakingly beautiful woman with long flowing hair, wearing a blazing red, sultry nightgown—so sheer her lingerie was visibly outlined underneath. Any normal man would drool at such a tantalizing sight.
Although the pictures were slightly blurry—taken discreetly in what looked like a pub or a dimly lit nightclub—her face was unmistakably recognizable.
The woman wasn't alone. An older, distinguished gentleman had his arm wrapped around her waist, kissing her cheek intimately.
The woman bore an uncanny resemblance to… Rahma, his wife.
Raymond felt the ground pull away beneath him; his whole body froze into stone.
Was that really Rahma? Why was she so close and intimate with this dapper, visibly wealthy older man?
So… were the ugly rumors true after all? The whispers he had heard ever since her career skyrocketed and eclipsed his own—that Rahma had climbed the ladder by selling herself?
Overwhelmed with blinding rage, Raymond abandoned the 145,000-rupiah cake right there on the bench of the bus stop where he had taken shelter. Ignoring the pouring rain, he revved his engine and sped straight home.
Arriving at the house, Raymond noticed her car was missing from the garage. Rahma wasn't home yet.
He desperately tried to suppress the raging turmoil inside him, clinging to a thread of optimism. Surely, the woman in the photo was just a look-alike.
But… why were those three photos sent to him? What was the motive behind it? His mind raced in agonizing confusion.
Around 11:45 PM, the sound of a car engine echoed outside. Rahma unlocked the front door and headed straight for the bedroom. Both of them carried their own house keys.
Noticing Raymond lying in bed with his back turned toward her, Rahma merely sighed. She walked into the bathroom to wash off her glamorous makeup.
In truth, Raymond was wide awake, his chest burning with anxiety and rage over those photos.
Less than fifteen minutes after lying down beside him, Rahma's soft, rhythmic snoring filled the room. Raymond turned around. In the soft silhouette of the nightlight, he saw his wife's face—she looked utterly exhausted.
“Hmm… Did she forget our fourth anniversary? But… why does she look so drained?” Raymond thought, the seeds of suspicion taking deeper root.
The next morning at the breakfast table…
Raymond still couldn't shake the three images from his mind—photos he had yet to delete—as he looked at his wife, who looked even more radiant in a cream-colored blouse.
Her long hair was styled in soft curls, dyed a rich shade of brown falling past her shoulders, accompanied by the subtle trail of expensive perfume. Rahma was undeniably gorgeous, with her fair, smooth skin and tall, slender frame. She was born of mixed heritage—her father an Australian native, her mother Sundanese.
Raymond was itching to ask where she had been until nearly midnight last night. But before he could speak, Rahma’s vibrant red lips moved first.
“Honey, my stepmom and older sister are arriving from Australia this afternoon. They’ll be staying with us while they’re in Jakarta. Apparently, their house back home is under renovation, so they're coming back to the country for a bit of travel and a short visit,” Rahma blurted out, slicing a piece of toast and chewing slowly.
Raymond remained silent, waiting. Would she remember that today marked exactly four years since they became husband and wife?
Yet… right up until Rahma bade him goodbye to leave for work, not a single word was spoken about their anniversary. Raymond could only let out a long, heavy sigh.
It was Sunday, but Rahma was still working!
“Oh, right… I might come home late again tonight. I’m accompanying the boss to a meeting with a major client who’s planning to build a shopping center in Kalimantan,” Rahma added casually before stepping away.
He was a man rendered powerless, completely overshadowed by his wife's career and income.
This time, Rahma didn't drive her own car. Instead, she was picked up by a luxury vehicle waiting outside.
Raymond could only nod, lacking any authority to stop her. He knew his place; these days, ninety percent of their household expenses came directly from Rahma’s pocket.
Ever since Rahma’s career took off, they had ascended from a modest family to an elite middle-class household. Naturally, their lifestyle adjusted accordingly… and whether he liked it or not, Rahma was the one footing the bill.
Raymond began clearing the breakfast dishes—a small chore Rahma used to do, but one that now fell entirely on him, as they couldn't afford a housekeeper.
In that quiet moment, he felt his dignity sink to an absolute low.

Raymond gently laid Indri down on the bed and took off her shoes. He then carefully adjusted her skirt, which had ridden up, pulling it back into place. His hand briefly lingered near her exposed cleavage, making his Adam's apple bob nervously. He leaned closer, then slowly shifted the dark-colored fabric of her underwear aside. For a moment, he pressed his lips against her exposed intimate area.A soft hiss escaped Indri's lips.Raymond immediately stopped his mischievous behavior. He could even taste the peculiar scent left on his lips.Although the sight before him had certainly stirred his desire, Raymond knew that if he wanted to, it would have been incredibly easy to give in to temptation. Indri was completely unconscious, and they were alone in the house. But once again, Raymond wasn't the kind of man who went around chasing women, let alone taking advantage of a vulnerable situation. In fact, his hands had been trembling when he'd dared to touch Indri without her knowing. The
"That's so strange..." the therapist blurted out, still unable to believe what she was hearing. A handsome, athletic man like Raymond was being cheated on by his own wife."I don't know, Silvi. I'm just as confused as you are. I've never cheated on her, not once. Honestly, this is my first time ever visiting a place like this," Raymond replied candidly.Once again, his words left Silvi wondering whether to believe him or not.Silvi chuckled softly as she adjusted the front of her blouse. Her tight outfit was struggling to contain her generous curves."Why are you laughing? Don't you believe what I'm telling you?" Raymond complained. Then, with a mischievous grin, he playfully poked one of her ample curves."Hey! You're quite the naughty one, aren't you, sir?" Silvi protested, playfully pinching Raymond's arm. "I'm serious, though. I'm still shocked. How could your wife cheat on you? Is her lover even more handsome than you?"Silvi then continued massaging Raymond's chest. He leaned ba
Seeing Raymond walk in with wet hair and a jacket, clearly having arrived on a motorcycle, the receptionist seemed to look down on him.Another broke customer, she thought disdainfully."Please choose your package. Deluxe is 500,000 rupiah for one hour, Premium is 750,000, and Super Premium is one million," the receptionist said flatly. She seemed convinced that the man standing before her would pick the cheapest option. She even pushed a card payment terminal toward him, as if to make it clear that this place didn't deal in cash. Everything had to be paid by card.Raymond felt a little insulted. Apparently, she thought he couldn't afford to book one of their more expensive rooms. His pride was wounded."I'll take the Super Premium. And book me for two hours," Raymond replied calmly. He then swiped his ATM card, and a receipt for two million rupiah came out of the machine. This is nothing. I just received a hundred-million-rupiah bonus from my company, not to mention the brand-new car
Raymond was beaming with joy. He had just received a brand-new compact SUV from his company as a reward, the latest hybrid model worth around five hundred million rupiah, along with an equally impressive bonus.Although the car was made in China, this particular model had actually broken phenomenal sales records in the country. Its futuristic design and advanced features made it a serious competitor to Japanese, Korean, and European cars. And best of all, he no longer had to wait in line at gas stations to refuel. That wasn't all. He had also received a promotion. He was now the Marketing Manager, replacing the previous manager, who had been transferred to another location. His new position placed him just one rank below Bingo, the branch manager. In other words, whenever Bingo was unavailable, Raymond would be appointed acting branch manager. The first person he wanted to tell, of course, was Rahma. However, instead of receiving an immediate reply, he noticed that his message to his
Raymond was now sitting absentmindedly in his small office, still thinking about Clara's last remark. Her words had left him both confused and unable to believe what he had just heard.Clara had invited him to accompany her to Yogyakarta in about two weeks. Her reason was to personally oversee the delivery of the cars she had ordered for her companies in Yogyakarta and Semarang. What kept Raymond pondering, however, was the unusual look in Clara's eyes. There was something about it that made him feel as though there was more to her invitation than she was letting on.“Ah, maybe I'm just imagining things,” he thought, dismissing the almost affectionate look Clara had given him earlier. As a man who had never cheated on his wife, Raymond had never been the type to entertain such thoughts.Besides, Clara was one of his company's biggest clients, and he was about to receive a substantial reward: a handsome bonus from the company. The businesswoman's beauty was certainly comparable to that
At 11:30 a.m., Raymond asked Bingo, the branch manager, for permission to go out and meet a client. For some reason, this time Raymond didn't mention who the client was. Bingo was curious, but his pride kept him from asking. Besides, meeting clients was part of their job, especially now that the branch had instructed all salespeople to take a more proactive approach to marketing and actively seek out potential customers. And this was still strictly business!Raymond was accustomed to going out and negotiating directly with his clients, sometimes accompanied by other salespeople and sometimes on his own. Bingo didn't want to appear overly curious by questioning him.Raymond headed straight to the restaurant Clara had booked. A waiter showed him to the designated room.It turned out to be a private dining room, and Raymond was relieved to discover that smoking was allowed there. He still had almost an hour to spare, so at least he wouldn't get bored while waiting.“Better for me to wait
