Chapter 1

“That's your sister's betrothal gift. How dare you touch it!”

The moment Cora’s fingers touched the blood-red rose, Father snatched the rose back and shoved it into my hand.

“Alina, you’re the sensible one. You can handle this. Prince Julian might be weak, but his position on the Vampire Council is untouchable. He's a perfect match for you.”

He turned to Cora. His tone instantly softened as he smoothed her messy hair.

“My Cora is too delicate. She can’t handle the vampires' twisted ways. Marrying the Werewolf Alpha… that’s where she’ll truly be happy.”

I looked down at the blood-red rose in my palm.

My nails dug into my flesh. A sharp pain shot through me.

The pain was real. It proved I was alive again.

In my last life, I did what my parents wanted. I let Cora, the "weaker" sister, have the stronger mate. I let her marry into the wolf pack.

I thought it was love.

Until the night I went into labor. She burst into my birthing chamber, covered in blood, a sharp dagger in her hand.

“Why do you get the heir?” Her scream sliced through the room. “I should be the future Queen!”

The blade pierced my chest. She grabbed my wrist, pulling me with her into the abyss.

In the final moment of our fall, she whispered in my ear. Her voice was full of manic glee.

“Alina, you were born to be beneath my feet.”

I snapped back to reality.

Suddenly, Cora snatched the rose from my hand.

She stared down at the flower. It looked like clotted blood. Her finger slowly traced each petal. A chilling smile crossed her lips.

“Father, I'm not marrying anyone else. I want Prince Julian.”

Just that one sentence. I understood instantly.

She was reborn, too.

Seeing her determination, my parents looked troubled. They both turned to me.

I knew that look.

For as long as I can remember, she competed with me for everything. I always had to let her win.

Even with the family’s honor on the line, they thought of Cora first. They wanted her to have the stronger, more powerful match.

“If Cora wants him, she can have him.” My voice was calm, emotionless. “The treaty only cares about who gives birth to the first hybrid heir. It doesn't matter who we marry.”

I reached out and calmly took the wooden box a servant held out.

Inside lay a moonstone pendant. It was carved with a wolf totem.

Outside, two cars were parked side by side.

One was a glossy black Bentley. A velvet runner covered in petals led to its door. Classic Julian.

The other was a deep black SUV with sharp, aggressive lines. It screamed raw power. That was Jaxson's.

Before we got into our separate cars, Cora turned back. She looked down her nose at the moonstone in my hand.

“Be careful, sister.” Her voice was filled with undisguised contempt. “Alpha Jaxson is a madman. He doesn't know the first thing about being gentle.”

“But my Prince...” she brought the rose to her nose, inhaling deeply, eyes closing in bliss. “Even the flowers he sends are as sweet as honey. So thoughtful.”

Under the envious gazes of the staff, she straightened her back and slid into the Bentley.

I took a half-step back.

“Then I hope you survive the nightmare you just stole, sister.”

Once I was in the SUV, I checked the moonstone again and again.

It was clean. No dark magic.

But the flower in Cora’s hand was far from perfect.

Those glowing petals weren't a blessing. They were a trap.

The vampire's enchantment magic would take full effect in three days. It would cloud the wearer's mind. It would make them lose control in public.

Soon, all the guests would see the esteemed future Queen utterly humiliated.

And all Julian would need to say is, "Her mind is unstable, her bloodline is flawed." He could tear up the betrothal. He could even demote her to a blood slave.

In my last life, that trap was meant for me.

This life, it’s her turn.

I saw Magnus's end through the video feed from the pack. The furious wolves surrounded him three layers deep. They didn't even give him a chance to beg.The sound of tearing flesh and roaring mixed together. In less than a minute, the once-arrogant elder was nothing but a bloody pile of bones on the floor.Julian's death was even more brutal. The Vampire Council stripped him of his Daylight Ring. They tied him to a cross in the middle of the square. At sunrise, I stood in the crowd and watched his pale body shrivel and crack in the light. He turned into a pile of ash that blew away in the wind.I didn't shed a single tear. Those whip scars and tortures from my past life finally got their closure. One year later.Heavy with my baby, I leaned against the balcony railing.I could feel the strong kicks in my belly. The latest ultrasound scans were perfect. The baby had the ultimate strength of a true-blood Alpha, untainted by dark magic.Healthy, strong, and flawless."Time to go inside,"

The bell for the summit's closing ceremony rang.Inside the domed hall, the atmosphere was heavy.Magnus and Julian stood side by side at the front. They looked like they had already won."Everyone," Magnus cleared his throat, faking a sympathetic tone."Regarding Miss Alina's alleged attack on a pregnant woman, the council has reached a verdict.""The evidence is undeniable," Julian took over.A faint smirk was on his pale face."Considering it's her first offense, she is hereby stripped of all human rights and tossed into the lowest level of the blood dungeon."The crowd murmured in agreement.I clutched the camera and voice recorder in my hands. My fingertips turned cold.BOOM.The main doors were kicked open.Jaxson marched in, holding my hand.Every step of his leather boots on the tiles radiated unquestionable authority."The verdict hasn't passed yet," he said, his voice as sharp as a blade."Look at this first."I raised my hand and connected my device to the hall's main screen

Rustling sounds came from outside the iron door.I opened my eyes.My pupils quickly adjusted to the dark. The footsteps were light—deliberately quiet. Then came the sound of a key turning. The door cracked open.Cora's face appeared in the gap, as pale as paper."Oh, you're awake, sister," she said, a sick thrill in her voice."Good. Saves me the trouble of waking you."A guard stood behind her, holding a tray with a steaming cup of tea."I had this made just for you."Cora crouched down, her eyes full of venom."Drink it, and you'll never be able to speak again. Ever."I looked at the tea and smirked."Did you really think I'd just sit here defenseless?"She froze.I didn't waste another breath.I flicked a tiny spray bottle from my sleeve. It was my own concentrated mix of wolfsbane and vervain extract.Designed to instantly paralyze any shifter or vampire nervous system.I sprayed it right into the faces of Cora and the guard. Both of them stiffened at the same time.Their eyes rol

"You're feeling pretty smug, aren't you, sister?"As soon as the lounge door locked behind me, Cora's voice came from the shadows.Dark and venomous.I turned and saw her leaning against the vanity. Her eyes were unfocused, but a crazy smile hung on her lips."Smug about what?" I looked at her calmly. "Smug about the mess you made yourself?""Shut up!" She screamed. Her nails dug into her palms."Why does Jaxson treat you like a queen?""Why didn't the holy water even leave a mark on you?!""Why do I have to be Julian's dark magic lab rat every damn night?!"She stepped closer. Her eyes were full of jealousy and madness."I'm carrying the heir! I was supposed to be the most powerful woman here! But you—you ruined everything!"I took a half-step back."Cora, you're not carrying a child." I said coldly."Shut up!" She shrieked, a desperate, wild look in her eyes. The next second, she pulled a silver hairpin from her hair.It still had a faint scent of the perfume I accidentally rubbed on

One month later, the Tri-Race Peace Summit began."Quiet, please," the host announced.Right then, the side doors were slammed open.Julian walked in slowly, wearing a dark robe.He looked even paler than last month.Behind him walked a figure in shackles.Cora.Her once-proud blonde hair was a mess.A glaring silver collar sat on her neck—the mark of a blood slave. My hand paused on my wine glass.Jaxson leaned in and whispered."Is he crazy? Bringing a blood slave to the summit?"I didn't answer.I just stared at Cora's belly. There was a tiny bump.Julian walked to the front and nodded at the council elders."Sorry for the interruption," he said flatly. "My blood slave here is pregnant with my child."Dead silence. Then, whispers erupted like a tidal wave."A pregnant blood slave? How is that possible...""That's the future king!"I stared hard at Cora. She kept her chin high, a sick smirk on her face.It was like she had finally gotten back the spotlight from her past life.My hear

Jaxson caught my father's hand mid-air.His grip was an iron vice.My father's face twisted in pain before his knees gave out, forcing him to the floor."Let go! You maniac!" Dad broke out in a cold sweat. His arrogant mask crumbled. He shivered, completely crushed by the Alpha’s aura.A violent red gleam flashed in Jaxson's eyes.He shoved the hand away."You must have a death wish, touching my Luna."The hall went dead silent. The nobles who had been enjoying the show seconds ago couldn't even breathe now. They were suffocated by the aura of an apex predator.Cora scrambled up from the floor. Her fake innocent mask was completely shattered. She pointed at me, screaming, her eyes dripping with toxic jealousy."Jaxson, she's nothing but our family's trash! A weak human with not a single drop of wolf blood! What makes her deserve to be your Luna?!"Jaxson didn't even look at her.He pulled me into his arms. His fingers ran wildly through my hair as he scanned the room with a defiant gla
