**Xavier**

I adjusted the glass cup again, slowly, deliberately, just to make a little sound. Something small enough to catch her attention.

Nothing.

She stayed glued to her phone, eyes fixed like she was reading the most important message of her life.

No glance up. Not even a fucking reaction.

No “Good morning, Alpha Xavier.”

Nothing.

Damn it.

Why do I even care?

My jaw ticked as I reached for the toast I wasn’t planning to eat. Everything felt dry in my mouth.

“Xavy baby!”Trisha’s voice screeched through the air. She slid into the seat beside me without waiting for permission, her perfume overwhelming my senses.

Bila growled in my head.

“That was supposed to be her seat.”

“Shut up”. I told him, but even I didn’t sound convincing anymore.

What the hell is wrong with me?

That kiss last night—had it scrambled my brain?

No.

Yes.

Hell.

Focus, Xavier. You’re not supposed to feel this way about Helena. She’s Elena’s sister. You’re supposed to be in love with Elena. You are in love with El

**Elena**"Move it, dimwit," Trisha hissed as she shoved Ivana aside like a piece of paper.I blinked. What the hell?"What are you doing here, Trisha? And who the hell gave you the right to barge into my room like this?" My voice came out sharp. She didn’t answer immediately. Instead, she rolled her eyes and flicked her wrist like I wasn’t worth her time. Her arm lingered in the air as she gave Ivana a death glare."Out," she commanded coldly.Oh no, not happening."You'll stay, Ivana," I said, stepping in before she could take another step. "And you," I turned to Trisha, "what audacity do you have talking to my maid like that?"My heart was pounding now. What was she up to ?"What do you want, huh? You know what..leave. Now."But she didn’t flinch."Shut up, you bitch," she snapped, her eyes glinting with hate. "You should be grateful I even decided to meet you face-to-face."I scoffed. Of course. She had nothing to do. Nothing but to come all the way from her wing to throw insult

  • My Sister's Fiance, My Fated Mate    Chapter 39: Too Secretive

**Elena**The morning dew cooled the earth. The scent of damp soil filled the air, earthy and fresh, like the world had just been washed clean. But I didn’t feel clean. I felt… raw.I stared at my reflection in the mirror, barely recognizing the girl looking back at me. My cheeks were sunken, my eyes hollow, and the bite mark on my neck..it had slightly burnt out. A dull ache lingered there, like a scar that refused to heal. That was from yesterday. From him.Xavier had been too close. Too warm. I should’ve pushed him away. But I didn’t.I sighed..The price I had to pay for having a witch cast a deceiving spell on the mark. “It'll burn out when close or pulled by the mate bond “ Her voice rang in my head. And Lira… she nearly lost control. One more second and she might have lunged at him.Something about his wolf had provoked her.. I still didn’t understand how we didn’t tear each other apart. Why is he doing this to me?One minute he’s cold, distant… then the next, he’s looking at

  • My Sister's Fiance, My Fated Mate    Chapter 38: Wet Strands

**Xavier**I watched as she dragged her wounded legs through the quiet halls, her steps uneven. The rain outside tapped against the windows in a quiet rhythm. Her body seemed to follow it. The corridor lights flickered faintly, casting dull gold streaks across her soaked figure. Her shirt clung to her like a second skin. Every curve, barely hidden.Damn it.Why wasn’t she wearing anything underneath?I bit down the growl that rose in my throat, hands clenched at my sides. I wasn’t supposed to care. But my legs moved on their own. My voice came out before I could stop it.“Wait. I’ll help you,” I said, reaching her in a few fast strides. She didn’t even look at me. Just kept walking, limping really, like I was the last person on earth she wanted to see.“I don’t need your help… Alpha Xavier.”“Yeah, yeah. I know you’ll say that.” I growled.I caught her arm gently, but firmly enough so she’d stop. She glared at me over her shoulder.“I’m not going to listen to your nags,” she snapped

**Elena**“Lira, you’re such a damn flirt.”I muttered under my breath. Why was she wagging her tail like that? Acting like Xavier was the sun and she was a flower?I shook my head, trying to stay focused.“Control yourself, girl.” I was trying to be cautious. But my stupid wolf had other ideas.I stole a glance at Xavier…well, at his wolf. Strong. Soaked in rain. Golden-brown fur shining under the moonlight. His eyes, sharp and focused, were staring right at me.“Oh no,” I thought, panic rising. The realisation hit me.How do I get out of this?I left my mask back there. behind the back corridor, probably soaked or buried now.If I shift back… he’ll see my face. What if he realizes I’m not Helena?Suddenly, he shifted. Right in front of me. Bones cracking, fur vanishing, and then..there he was. Human again. Standing tall, shirtless, drenched. Hair stuck to his forehead, some strands falling into his eyes. His voice cut through the rain. Low. Rough. A little pissed.“What the fuck are

**Xavier**Where the hell is she going?I muttered under my breath, ignoring Trisha’s annoying voice.“Xavy. Baby. Can you hear me? I’m still here. Hello?” she whined.“Be quiet.”I waved her off, eyes fixed on Helena. Why is she sneaking out? Why do I even care? But my body moved before my brain. I was out the door. Following her.Rain poured like crazy. And she was out in it like it meant nothing. She stopped. Then shifted into her wolf. What the fuck? Her wolf… it looked like Elena’s.Bila growled.I stayed hidden. Watching her wild wolf run into the woods. The moon still shone through the rain, lighting her up.Damn. She looked… hot. Like a dangerous little cat.Get it together, Xavier. We agreed to stay away. No getting close. No falling again.Bila didn’t give a damn. He was already pushing forward.“Stop it. That’s not Elena. That’s her sister. Don’t be stupid.”Then I saw where she was headed. My heart jumped.No. No. Not that way.“Helena!” I shouted. “Don’t go that way! Th
