CHAPTER 4

NATALIA

The door was carved with the two wolves' faces, showing the power and authority that one who lived behind this door held.

It was the door of the Alpha chamber.

It was the most secured and least doubtable room for me to hide.

That chamber belonged to my father and the alpha of this pack before. Davi Brooks Mcallister.

Now, it must belong to that Alpha Romeo Velasquez. And currently, I’m praying he shouldn’t be here because...

A: I will kill him the moment I see meet him.

B: I needed that chamber vacant to hide from the guardian wolves who were behind my tail.

I hesitated for a second to go inside but when I heard the footsteps approaching me and the voices of the guardian wolves coming in my direction, I turned the doorknob and went inside.

I slammed the door shut behind me and leaned my back on it. I closed my eyes to calm my nerves. I opened my eyelids to witness the changes of this chamber.

Everything had changed.

From floor to ceiling. From curtains to the paint of the walls that used to be pure white, had changed into royal blue color. It was looking sophisticated but it was giving off an eerie vibe.

I did not know when I started roaming into the room that once belonged to my father.

My eyes glistened and examined everything, every single detail to get something to reminisce my father’s memories but it had changed, entirely.

Everything was brand new. The chamber was plush and tidy- too much so far for an occupied room. I thought Alpha Romeo was staying in it but I couldn’t detect any suitcase, phone charger, a desolate shirt lying on the ground, or any other telltale object.

“Is he not here?” I asked Lia and she shrugged.

“Maybe he’s not here. On one hand, it’s looking suspicious and on the other hand, if he’s staying here, he sure is the kind of psycho to not leave a trace behind. And we are in his chamber.” Lia Squealed.

“You are helping me too much, Lia.” I let out sarcastically and took out my silver dagger.

I slowly started making my move towards the walk-in wardrobe.

I stopped right in front of the closed doors of the wardrobe and clutched my dagger tightly, ready to attack if he was in there.

I rushed in. There was no one here. I sighed out in relief and agitation.

“Where the hell is this Alpha Romeo?!” I grunted and started sniffing the air in an attempt to detect his scent.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t any scent.

How the hell is that even possible?

Then, I heard the noise of water running. It was coming from the bathroom.

“There he is..” I smirked to myself. I was so close to killing him.

I walked towards the washroom like a cat, without making any noise. I stood there, in front of the door. I twisted the doorknob very carefully and tip-toed inside.

I adjusted my vision on my left side and saw a silhouette of a man through the thick shower curtains. He was taking a shower.

His back was broad and his figure was leaned. His muscles flexed when he ran his hand through his hair, sleeking them back. He looked like he worked out for a living and he looked young to be called an Alpha.

Was I in the wrong washroom, because I was sure he wasn’t Alpha Romeo.

The Alpha Romeo might be too old to possess that athletic body.

I was nearly drowned by the noise inside my head that I could not even process when that man turned off the shower and I was pinned on the wall, my face was touching the cold tile of the washroom.

I was caged under the body of that man. I was completely at his mercy.

Bloody hell, When did this happen?!

The atmosphere turned dark, unhinged. My fingers curled as I got ready to attack, however, I could not even move an inch. The man had twisted my right arm behind me and his left hand pinned my left arm on the wall beside my face.

“Who are you? You are not someone from this pack.” He sniffed a strand of my hair that was covering half of my face, to recognize my scent and I felt my body getting hotter.

I know my life was endangered but a thirst to taste him had woke up.

His throaty voice rose goosebumps all over my body. My wolf Lia was also jumping in excitement.

What the hell is going on?!

I clenched my teeth when he let go of one of my hands to touch my neck, his finger lightly traced my skin. Before he could do anything, I pushed him away and launched myself towards him with my silver dagger.

He wasn’t ready for this attack and I happened to scratch his shoulder with my silver dagger. He hissed and turned his back to me. He clutched his bruised shoulder and I heard him growling.

He turned around in a breath and with a swift move, my dagger was in his hand. He grabbed me by my waist and my back hit his hard muscled body and he put the dagger on my throat.

“The tables turned, Rabbit.” He fanned his breath on the side of my face and laughed devilishly.

“Look into my eyes, intruder.” He ordered me but I refused to obey.

I kept my eyes lowered down to the floor and I could feel his gaze on me through the mirror in front of me.

“I could not take this risk of looking into his eyes or he would know my true identity by looking into my eyes,” My chest was rising and falling with heavy breathing, and so was his chest.

He pulled my head back by clutching my hair into his fist.

“Are you scared, Rabbit?” He croaked, his face descending to mine from over my shoulder, his lips drawing closer, inch by inch, the heat of him tangible, blazing a straight path through my head.

I didn’t answer but kept quiet. I could not turn into my wolf when I had a silver dagger hanging on my neck, ready to slice.

“You think you can survive this if you stay silent? You are highly mistaken, rabbit. You are in a hungry wolf’s cave and there’s no way out.” He purred in my right ear.

My throat bobbed with a swallow. It hurt, but he didn’t let go of my hair. He pulled again, extending my neck. I groaned, squeezing my eyes shut.

“Open. Your. Eyes” The man ordered, sternly. His voice had a way of nestling between my legs, giving the organ between them a pulse.

His breath was rigid.

My eyes fluttered open, meeting his gaze and the time stopped.

“MATE…” we both let out in unison.

Why the heck would she think he’s hiding in the closet. That’s ridiculous.
