Lydia Martins, the smart kid at school, is the constant target of bullies like Emily, the wealthy businessman's daughter, who torments Lydia for getting perfect grades. After Lydia aces another test, Emily and her friends confront Lydia in the bathroom, calling her "Teacher's Pet" and accusing her of only succeeding because of the handsome, young Mr. Derek—the new English teacher. The girls tease and bully Lydia, claiming she's sleeping with Mr. Derek for good grades, before dumping a bucket of water over her head. Humiliated, Lydia soon finds photos from the incident circulating online with vile captions calling her a ‘Slut’ and the ‘Teacher’s Pet’. Enraged, she hatches a plan not to get back at her bullying classmates but to target Mr. Derek instead. She decides that if she can get him fired, the torment over her grades might finally stop.

I stood quietly in front of my locker trying to recall where I had kept my English language textbook when suddenly I heard a loud thud on my locker door. I was frightened but yes, I was also used to it.
“Nerdy bitch” Chloe said to me rolling her eyes and walking away like she didn’t just almost give me a heart attack. I simply ignored and picked out the textbook that was hiding behind my Romance novel.
Oh how I loved the sweet impossible imagination of having a lover. I picked it up, and headed for class.
Mr. Derek’s class was one of my favorites. Aside from the fact that I loved his style of teaching, I loved staring at his amazing physique. I sometimes catch myself dreaming of my petite self wrapped up in his arms.
Who wouldn’t? His broad shoulders, his rock hard chest, I could tell even without touching, his chiseled beard and earth swirling scent I wish I had.
Everything about him reminded me of my favorite male lead character from my all time Romance book “Make Me Yours Tonight”
“About your test, some of you did well while others not so well” Mr. Derek said distributing our scripts.
“Good job Lydia.” He said to me while dropping my script. I was so surprised to find out I had an A. English was the only subject I had struggled to get an A for weeks now. I always got either a B or C .
The smile on my face was second to none. I was still staring at my script when Mr. Derek announced that he was giving us a break for thirty mins. He walked out of the class leaving those who were rejoicing, rejoicing and those who were mad, mad.
I tucked my script into my bag and headed for the bathroom. I had barely gotten in when suddenly I felt a pain in my hair.
“You did it again bitch.” Emily said to me with gritted teeth. Emily Spencer. My greatest enemy in school.
“I bet she slept her way to an A.” Chloe added.
“Let go of my hair.” I said to them struggling to free myself with my hand.
“Or what?” Danilella asked me,pulling my hand away from my head giving me no support system.
Emily, Alexa and Chloe were best of friends, although I never believed they liked each other. Alexa and Chloe were only with Emily because of her money and fame in school but that was the least of my problems. How on earth did I get myself in this situation?
“You are hurting me, let go of my hair.” I pleaded.
“Fine.” Emily signaled Alexa to let me go while she also freed my hair.
“Now you are free, what are you gonna do?”
“Hit me? Have sex with Derek again to get me expelled?” Emily scoffed.
“You can tell me, it’s just me and you here Lydia.” She continued.
“How was the sex? How hard did you sleep with him to get you an A?” I couldn’t believe the disgusting thoughts Emily had. She thought I slept with Mr. Derek to get an A while I was battling to stay awake all through the night?
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” I said to them, taking a few steps away from them in an attempt to leave. Chloe grabbed my arm and pulled me back.
“Don’t you dare make the mistake of walking away from me.”
“The problem with middle class girls is that they can do anything to get what they want including selling their body for money or grades.” Emily said to me, taking a step closer.
“Enough! Don’t you dare utter another word against me.” I yelled, pointing an accusing finger towards her. For the first time in years, I gathered enough courage to speak up.
“I have had enough of your words and insults.”
“Who the hell do you think you are? Huh?” Just like I was surprised by my words, I saw the same surprise written on Emily’s face.
“Oh! the nerves. Did Derek also teach you how to talk back? Huh?” Emily grabbed my jaw and let go of it forcefully.
“Where did he touch you?” Here? She touched my neck. Here? She grabbed my breast. While Chloe and Alexa smiled, enjoying the drama.
“Stop it!” I ordered. I was getting infuriated.
Why should I? Bet your mother didn’t stop you when you took the bold step of having sex.
The next minute, my hand was on Emily’s face and I gave her a resounding slap that left me stunned.
“What did I just do ?” I thought to myself
“I….I’m … I stuttered trying to tender an apology but I couldn’t.
Emily held onto her face in shock while her puppets rushed towards her to console her. I was about to escape the situation when Emily jerked me back, gave me a resounding slap that pushed me to the ground.
How dare you raise your filthy hands to me? She questioned.
“I will make you pay for every hurt I felt.” While she was talking, Alexa rushed into the bathroom, ran back out with a bucket of water and handed it over to Emily.
“Fuck you, slut.” she threw the water at me aggressively.
I couldn’t say a word. I felt humiliated. I should have never spoken up for myself.
While I was trying to gain control of myself, Chloe brought out her phone and made a video of me drenched.
“Emily I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to…..” I tried to plead but none of them were ready to listen to me.
“Now watch me expose your dirty lineage to the whole school.”
“You had the guts to raise your hands to Emily Spencer, we will make you pay.”
“Have sex while you can, cause when I’m done posting this video of yours, no one will ever look at you the same.” Chloe and Alexa threatened.
The trio walked away from me.
Third Person POVWhen the text from Derek Hales buzzed on her phone, Emily stared at it like it was a dream. Her lips curled up in a contented smile.Derek: You were right about everything. Meet me at the motel off Highway 9. Room 107. Tonight. 10 p.m. I want to see what I've been missing."Her blood ran cold. What....?Her fingers trembled as she read his text for the second time, then a third time, her heart bursting with excitement. Is this a joke? No. Not Derek. He don't play games. Not like this.He had just sent her away hours ago. Told her she was crazy and needed help. And now… Now he wants to see her?At a motel? All by himself?Maybe he thought about it and finally realized that Lydia is not worth it. Maybe he'd finally ceased to be an idiot. She tightened her grip on the phone. She wouldn't make him doubt. Wouldn't give him any reason to change his mind. This is what she'd been waiting for. And she'll do whatever he wants. Everything."I knew it," she whispered, leaning aga
Emily's POVI read the message at least six times. We need to talk, now.My heart skipped the first time, soared the second, then fell into a low, feverish throb the sixth.I didn't send a reply. I didn't need to. He wanted to talk. He finally wanted to talk.I stood in the girls bathroom, brushing my hair. I added more gloss to my lips and smiled at my reflection in the mirror. He's finally coming back to his senses.I'd waited forever for this. All the behind-the-scenes scheming, the lies, the pushes, the tears no one witnessed—all of it was finally going to be worth it. Derek Hales wanted to talk to me.And I was willing to do anything he wants. When I walked into the vacant classroom, he was already in there. He looked tired and angry.God, he looked hot when he's angry. His tie was loose, his shirt sleeves pushed up. He was so handsome, leaning there against the desk like he belonged to me. He didn't say a word of greeting. Just commanded me to sit."Sit." He said roughly.I t
Derek's POVI leaned against the door of the classroom. The five-word note said it all.We need to talk. Now.I knew she wouldappear. Emily Spencer craved power. She wouldn't miss the chance to trap me alone. She loved being feared. Being desired. She had no idea that I wasn't intimidated by her anymore. The door creaked open exactly ten minutes later and the clicking of her shoes filled the room before she had even spoken."You couldn't wait until after school hour?" she demanded, sweeping her blonde hair over her shoulder. "Or were you too desperate to see me alone?"She wore lip gloss that reflected the fluorescent light. A pleated skirt and an impossibly tight sweater that was way too revealing to serve as school uniform."Sit," I told her roughly. She raised an eyebrow. "Bossy. I love it.""Emily, sit down,"She glared at me, chuckling as her eyes scanned me. She finally sank into the chair across from me. Her leg dangled over the other slowly, in deliberate action."Let me guess
Derek's POVPrincipal Beatrice raised her head the moment Lydia came into the room. Her expression was neutral, but her eyes lingered on me way longer than necessary. Lydia halted at the entrance. I saw fear in her eyes and the tense way she wrapped her arms around her belly. She was scared. And I was to blame.Mrs. Carter closed the door softly behind her as principal Beatrice motioned towards the chair beside mine."Sit down, Lydia," she said in a soft voice.Lydia sat down quietly. Her shoulders were hunched as if she was trying to fade away.Principal Beatrice turned to me. "You mentioned you wanted to discuss something, Mr Hales."I nodded. This was it."Yes, ma'am. I asked to speak with you regarding Lydia's case."She furrowed her eyebrows. "Go on."I folded my hands in my lap. "There have been rumors going round about Lydia. Rumors about her being in some kind of relationship with a teacher. I believe that's not true. Instead, I think one of the students has decided to ruin h
Lydia's POVI walked past the double doors of the cafeteria as if they weren't there. I kept my head and held on to my books for dear life. My stomach was too knotted up to even think about food. Anytime I blink, I only saw Principal Beatrice's face, heard her voice as she muttered: "Inappropriate behavior."And Derek's note too."I'm sorry. I never wanted to hurt you."I had no clue what that meant. Is he going to confess? Is he going to leave? Is he going to do something that would make the whole thing worse?I went down the corridor along the back of the school and into the vacant music room—no one use it these days because the program had been removed from the school's extracurriculars. It was dusty and the scent of dry chalk hung in the air. But it's quiet and safe. Just what I wanted.I unzipped my bag on the nearest desk and took out the note from my pocket.I read it repeatedly."I'll make things right."How? By turning himself in? By pretending like we never met? By walking a
Lydia's POVMy legs felt heavy as I followed Mrs. Carter down the hallway. Each step closer to the principal's office, I felt my heart beat wildly in my chest, like I was walking towards something dangerous with no hope of turning back. When we reached the door, she tapped on it softly, then opened it without waiting for an answer. "She's here," she whispered to whoever was inside.Headmistress Beatrice looked up from behind her desk, her expression unreadable. She had an open file in front of her and her glasses sat low on the bridge of her nose. Her grey hair was packed tightly into a bun and the lines around her mouth were more tightly pursed than normal."Come in, Lydia," she said. "Do close the door, please."I entered, my heart racing in my chest and shut the door behind me."Sit down."I did, sitting in the chair before her desk. I rubbed my sweaty palms on my jeans under the desk nervously. She clasped her hands over the file, shutting it slowly. "Do you know why you're here?"
