Aurora

I was a breath away from passing out completely, when the man grunted and rolled off me, kicked away by a firm, solid leg. And just like that, air flowed back into my lungs, and the atmosphere brightened once again. The ringing in my ears faded, bringing sounds flooding back into my senses.

I coughed, touching my neck that would no doubt be bruised already. I pushed myself into a sitting position, looking around me.

Someone in a grey shirt rolled up at the sleeves rammed his shoe into my near-rapist's jiggly belly. The man cried out in pain, begging the person to stop.

"Please . . . please." The words fell out of his mouth in between gasps for air and pained groans.

I binked over and over again, trying to make sure that what I was seeing wasn't a mirage.

"Crazy bastards like you are the people that make this world utterly despicable," he said, before landing another kick into the man's side again.
