###Ryker

I’d barely taken a second sip of my whiskey when movement across the ballroom caught my attention.

Sincerely.

She was no longer admiring the venue. She was leaving—not casually, not with the polite drift of a guest seeking air or the restroom. Her head was lowered, her pace quick and deliberate, the kind of purposeful retreat that said she wanted to vanish before anyone noticed she had been there at all.

A faint smile tugged at the corner of my mouth.

###RykerSincerely pulled away from the third kiss, eyes glassy and unfocused, then pushed herself up from the chair. Her steps were unsteady as she moved toward the open balcony railing. Night air swept across her face. She spread her arms wide, tilting her head back as if the cool breeze could clear the alcohol and the ache from her system.“Let’s go home,” she said, voice soft but firm.I rose and followed. When she swayed, I caught her by the waist and drew her firmly back against me. The sudden contact made her breath hitch.“Not yet,” I murmured against her ear. “Not after you’ve left me like this. How about we play fair?”My free hand slipped into my pocket. I found the small remote and pressed the button. The soft, low hum of the vibrator answered at once.Sincerely’s entire body jolted. A sharp, startled sound escaped her throat as her hands flew to my forearm. She tried to twist away, but I held her in place, chest to back, one arm locked securely around her waist.“

    ### RykerI set my whiskey glass down.“Are you alright?”“Yes.”The answer came too quickly and flat.I studied her for a moment.“Are you sure?”She finally looked at me.“I want a drink.”I blinked. “…What?”“Alcohol.” She held out her hand impatiently. “Pour me a drink.”I couldn’t remember her ever asking for anything before. Now she was demanding it.Without another word I reached for the bottle, poured a small measure into a crystal glass, and handed it to her.She took it without hesitation and tipped the entire contents into her mouth. She coughed almost immediately, face twisting as the liquor burned its way down. I expected her to stop.Instead she reached for the bottle itself. Before I could react she had unscrewed the cap and pressed it to her lips. She swallowed once. Twice. Three times.I grabbed the bottle and pulled it away.“What the hell are you doing?”Her watery eyes snapped to mine. “Give it back.”“No.”She reached for it again. I lifted it

I was already turning back to the room when another flicker of motion snagged my eye.A woman in an emerald gown stood near the center of the floor, cake still smeared across the front of her dress in dark, sticky streaks. She was speaking animatedly to three other women, one manicured finger stabbing toward the exit Sincerely had just taken. The women nodded almost at once. One hurried left. Another went ri

    ### SincerelyI snapped my eyes open then immediately squeezed them shut again.Harsh rays of morning sunlight cut through the curtains and stabbed straight into my vision. The light felt sharp, almost physical. I turned my face into the pillow with a low groan, waiting for the brightness to ease.It didn’t.When I tried again, slower this time, it wasn’t the sunlight that forced my eyes closed. It was the pounding in my head.A deep, relentless throb pulsed behind my temples, each beat radiating outward until even the smallest shift of my neck felt unbearable. I stayed perfectly still, breathing carefully through my nose, as if any larger movement might split my skull.“Gosh…” The word came out rough, barely more than a whisper. I pressed my fingertips against my forehead, trying to push the ache back. “My head hurts.”I lay there a little longer, letting the pain settle into something manageable. Only then did I push myself upright, inch by inch, one careful breath at a time

    ### Roland“You’ve all seen the news, I guess.”No one answered or disagreed. They didn’t even need to.The newspapers scattered across the table spoke loudly enough.“The situation is already affecting Mooncrest’s reputation.”Elder Morris adjusted his glasses with deliberate care. “It is affecting more than our reputation, Alpha.”He slid a folder across the polished wood.“Our shares in the Northern Trading Alliance have dropped nearly six percent since dawn.”Another elder spoke without waiting for permission. “We’ve received three separate requests from business partners asking whether the reports of internal abuse are true.”“And?”“They’re waiting for our formal response before renewing any agreements.”I clenched my jaw until the muscle jumped.Just as I had feared. One night.
That was all it had taken.
One night, and years of carefully built influence had begun to fracture.Gamma Felix finally pushed off the wall.“This isn’t because Alpha Ryker was seen with

    ### RolandBy sunrise, the damage was already done. The news had spread faster than wildfire through dry timber.Every major pack outlet carried the same headlines, bold and merciless across their front pages:The Elusive Alpha Ryker Appears with Mystery Woman at Blackstone Gala
Who Is the Woman Beside Blackstone’s Alpha?
Alpha Ryker Publicly Defends Unknown Female GuestPhotographs flooded every platform before the morning run even finished. One of him guiding her away from the balcony, hand settled low on her back like a claim.
Another of him standing between her and Bianca—unmoving, unyielding.
And the worst of them: the exact moment he looked down at Sincerely. His expression unreadable, but the focus in it was absolute. As if the rest of the room had ceased to exist.Within hours, every pack was talking, speculating, and digging. It should have worked in my favor.Alpha Ryker, our greatest rival had chosen to associate himself with the woman I had rejected. People should
