I had just bought some jewelry at the mall and was about to leave when someone stopped me, demanding I kneel down to serve him.

I refused, saying I was not a staff member, but they instantly made a scene.

"Ask around the city. You'd find people lining up just for the chance to lick my shoes!"

"Mr. Foreman is doing you a favor by letting you serve him on your knees. Do you want to die?"

When I remained silent, the man got even more arrogant.

"Do you know who I am? I'm the husband of Snow Wardle, the CEO of Wardle Group. Are you scared now?"

I smirked and pulled out my phone to make a call.

"Snow, I heard you have another husband behind my back. Is that true?"

As soon as I said that, the group across from me burst out laughing.

"I've never seen anyone act so conceited in front of Mr. Foreman."

"Mr. Foreman is doing you a favor by letting you serve him on your knees. Ask around the city and you'd know how many people wished they had a chance to serve Mr. Foreman!"

"Exactly. Why is a staff member acting so arrogant? Who does he think he is?"

Chad, the leader, had a contemptuous smirk on his face as he slowly stuck his foot out towards me.

"Since you don't want to serve me on your knees, then lick my shoes. If you lick them clean, I'll let you off."

"You...!"

My nanny, May, who was behind me, was so angry she wanted to rush forward to teach them a lesson. After all, no one in the entire capital dared to treat me like this.

The Wardle Group was just a small corporation in my eyes.

I stopped May, my expression calm. "I told you, I'm not a staff member.

"Don't push your luck."

I thought, seeing my displeased expression, he would back down.

But he did not even let me finish speaking before telling his lackeys to hold my shoulders down, forcing me to kneel on the ground.

Then, he said impatiently, "I'm doing you a favor letting you serve me. I'm giving you a chance to suck up to me."

Suck up?

As the capital's golden boy, since when did I need to suck up to a nouveau riche?

I caught a glimpse of May's expression. She was in shock. Our family's nannies were all graduates from Stanford; they were respected wherever they went. When have they ever been treated like this?

Chad let out a derisive laugh and splashed coffee on my face.

"You have no idea who you're offending."

Before I could wipe the coffee off my face, several of his lackeys immediately rolled up their sleeves and rushed in.

One of them kicked me hard in the stomach, the pain causing me to break out in a cold sweat.

"Sir..."

May rushed forward to save me but was grabbed by the hair and pushed to the floor, followed by a few slaps that left her face swollen and bleeding.

I was pinned down, forced to watch Chad's leather shoe viciously stomp May's hand.

"Who do you think you are? How dare you interfere? Today, you'll learn that the Wardle family is not to be messed with!"

May screamed, and I felt like my heart was being torn apart.

She was about to retire, and I had asked her to come with me to buy jewelry. I never expected something like this to happen right after I returned to the country.

Even someone as gentle as me could not suppress my anger anymore.

I broke free from the hands gripping my shoulders and said coldly, "Listen up! I am the heir of the Swain family, and also the husband of Snow Wardle, the CEO of Wardle Group! Let us go now, and this matter ends here. Otherwise..."

Before I could finish speaking, the people in front of me, with strange expressions, suddenly burst out laughing.

Chad's lackey grabbed my chin and sneered.

"The staff members these days really think they can sleep with whoever has money. He actually wants to climb into Ms. Wardle's bed in front of the legitimate husband! What a shameless fella!"

The staff members in the store also wore expressions of disbelief. "This is the husband of Ms. Wardle! The mall is a gift from Ms. Wardle to him. If you're going to lie, at least make it believable!"

I was stunned by those words.

Snow actually dared to have a lover behind my back?! This mall was something we built together from scratch!

Chad glared at me fiercely, squeezing his words out through gritted teeth.

"You country bumpkin. I bet you don't even know the mall's name. How dare you make up a lie like that?"

His shoe stepped on my hand hard, making me break into a cold sweat.

How could I not know the mall's name?

The mall was a gift from Snow, a token of her love. It was named after me!

Back in college, I was captivated by Snow's beauty and fell for her sweet words. I insisted on marrying her.

Thus, my father made a bet with me: if Snow remained as devoted to me after five years, the Swain family would accept her as a daughter-in-law!

I used the Swain family's influence to help her become a rising star in the capital in just five years!

I returned to the country this time to reveal my identity to her, but I did not expect her to give me such a big surprise!

I roared, "Tell Snow to come here! I want to ask her what's going on!"

Through gritted teeth, Chad squeezed out his words, "If you mention my wife again, I'll strip you naked and throw you into the lobby downstairs! I'll let everyone see what happens to shameless losers who dare to use my wife's name!"

I smirked. "This mall is called 'JesseSnow,' right? My name is Jesse Swain. The mall is Snow's gift to me!"
