Emily’s POV

I stepped over the threshold into a breathtaking open-plan living space. It was all clean lines, minimalist furniture, and floor-to-ceiling windows that looked out onto a private, beautifully lit garden. It was the complete opposite of von Oberhaus's trophy-filled lair. This was a sanctuary.

"It's beautiful," I said, my voice a little awed.

"Thank you," he said simply, closing the door. "I thought this would be more… private than a restaurant.”

I quirked an eyebrow. “I thought we had to make public appearances so people would start talking about us.”

He hummed. “We do, but I could tell that you wanted to ask me something, and this is the right place to have this kind of conversation.”

I stilled. How the hell did he know about that? I wanted to ask, but then I remembered that he is a freaking CEO and has the nose of a Hound.

He led me further into the house, toward a kitchen that looked like it belonged in a Michelin-starred restaurant. The island was set with two places, an

Emily’s POVI got angry.I was seething. How dare he?We weren’t in a relationship anymore, by contract or by anything. I agreed to give them both a chance, but that was it. He had no right to show before my door, looking so like a wolf just chewed him all over, then spit him.He had no right."Worth what, Jin?" I asked, my voice dangerously level. "The vacation? Yes, it was very relaxing. I needed a change of scenery, and Ilay was kind enough to give that to me. Is there a problem?”His jaw tightened, a muscle feathering. "Don't," he bit out, the word sharp and brittle. "Don't play dumb with me, Emily. I know you were with him."“With Ilay?” I tilted my head, feigning innocence. “I just told you I was with him, what—”The fury in his eyes flared, hot and bright. "I know you slept with him!”“And?”"And?" he repeated, his voi

  • My mysterious billionaire    Chapter 49: Was It Worth It?

Emily’s POVMy whole body aches, but that is expected considering how much Ilay and I fucked during the trip to Hawaii.I didn’t even see the ocean because I spent the entire time in the room, tangled in the high-thread-count sheets, the scent of him and tropical flowers and sex clinging to everything. The only sun I got was the late-afternoon light gilding his skin as he moved over me.The key fob feels heavy in my hand as I approach my apartment door. I wish my vacation had lasted longer, but it was time to return to my normal life. I called in tomorrow. I feel that if I wear those heels, I might fall face-first on the ground, and I don’t want to take that risk.I drop my suitcase just inside the door. It lands with a definitive thud. It is heavier thanks to all the clothes Ilay bought for me. He insisted I take them all, even though I told him I didn’t have enough space in my closet. The silence of my apa

Ilay’s POVPerfect.I didn’t have this in mind when I brought Emily here. I wanted her to take some time off, that was it, but now that we are here, I can’t stop myself.I even asked her to tell me who she was with so I could make sure she wasn’t confusing me with Jin.Petty, I know, but what can I say? Emily has changed me.Her gasp when I tore the dress was the most exquisite sound I’d ever heard. My dick was throbbing only because of that sound.I mapped her body with my mouth, learning the secret places that made her whimper and arch. The mark I left on her collarbone was a brand, a claim I wanted her to see tomorrow and remember who had put it there. Remember me.Even after we return, she won’t be able to hide it, meaning he will see it.Emily doesn’t know this, but as soon as Jin found out I had taken Emily somewhere, he tried to call me. Of cour

  • My mysterious billionaire    Chapter 47: He Kept His Promise

Emily’s POVThe first touch was a soft press of warmth. He wasn’t rushing me this time; he was letting me choose. His hand remained on my cheek, but I could have moved with ease.Should I? If I kissed Ilay, in this house, in the middle of an island in Hawaii, what would happen next? The answer was obvious. He was handsome and intelligent, and apart from Jin, he might be the most wanted bachelor.I had him here, with me.So, I should enjoy this.I parted my lips, clearly inviting him for more, and he happily obliged. His mouth covered mine; it tasted minty. His hand slid from my cheek into my hair, tangling gently at the roots, holding me to him. I gasped in pleasure, which only seemed to ignite the fire inside Ilay because his tongue played with my lower lip before pushing further inside. His kiss deepened, slow and deliberate, like he was savoring every second. The warmth of his mo

  • My mysterious billionaire    Chapter 46: Hawaii

Emily’s POVWhy the hell not?You only live once, and even if both of them are playing with me, I might as well enjoy it while it lasts. At least now I would have a fun story to tell my kids or grandkids—if I even have them."Change the scenery to where?" I asked. “You know I have a job, I can’t miss Monday.”A slow, triumphant smile spread across his face. "Don’t worry, my beautiful fox.” I rolled my eyes at the cheesy nickname. “I have a private jet.”I rolled my eyes.Of course he did.“Then lead the way, Ilay,” I said, sliding inside his car."To the airport," he told the driver. The city melted away. We arrived at the airport pretty quickly. I didn’t expect Ilay to have everything ready; it took us less than ten minutes to be inside his private jet.“What if I had said no?” I asked him, settling into a

  • My mysterious billionaire    Chapter 45: Change of Scenery

Emily’s POV“Emilia Carter! There is another delivery for you,” Ben announced for the third time in the day. “Please pick it up.”I groaned, burying my face in my hands. I was sure it was another bouquet of flowers, or perhaps a dessert. The office had become a revolving door of Jin’s silent, extravagant apologies. The first had been a stunning orchid, the card bearing only a single, stark question mark. The second was a box of impossibly expensive chocolates from a boutique I’d once mentioned in passing, the card blank this time.He was respecting my request for space, but he was also making his presence—and his regret—impossible to ignore.“Fine,” I muttered, pushing back from my desk. I could feel my colleagues' eyes on me as I walked to the reception area. Sarah glared at me as I passed. I’m sure she hadn’t forgotten what I said to her.Served her rig
