Episode 2

I took my caddie to the hospital with me. I tossed him the keys and asked him to park the car. I dashed into the hospital. I looked for any of my family members at the reception but saw none. I went to the meet the nurse at the counter.

“Excuse me Ms”I said catching my breath

“Yes, how may I help you?”she said politely

“Please my dad was rushed here. What room is he?”

“What’s your dad’s name please?”

“Justice Diego”I said

“Hold on for a second please”she said as she went through her register. “Yes he is in room 34. It’s the last door by your left”

“Okay, thank you very miss”I said and left.

I went to my dad’s room and saw my whole family members there. The doctor was checking his heart beat with the stethoscope. He wrote something on a file and closed and gave it back to the nurse. I saw my mom in tears and went to console.

“Excuse me doctor, how is my Dad?”

“He is fine and out of danger”he said with his pocket in his hands.

“Thank God”

“Can we take him home now?”my mom asked

“Sure, But I will advise to get a caretaker that will assist him and avoid him from doing any work. He should be on bed rest for now"

"Okay doctor, thank you"

"Evans"

"Yes doctor"

"Before you leave, I would like to see you in my office "

"Okay doctor"

The doctor left them and went back to his office.

My dad was still unconscious and it was getting late. I told Clinton to drive my mom and siblings home. My mom hesitated but I persuaded her till she finally gave in. When they left, I went to the doctor's office.

"Yes doctor, you wanted to see me"I said with a knock on his door

"Yes Evans. Please have a seat"

I sat down. The look on his face made me to know that my father's case could be critical

"Your father's heart is gradually getting weak. It is no longer stable and can easily collapse at any time"

"But doctor I thought you said he was out of the woods"I asked.

"I only did that was to keep your mom from know the truth"

"But doctor how can I prevent him from getting another heart attack?"

"You will have to keep him in a calm and steady position always. Avoid any news that will give him shock. And please hire a caretaker to watch his every move. And make sure you don't tell your mom about this"

"Okay doctor, I won't"I said and left his office.

The thought of my father's condition popped into my head. I couldn't imagine loosing him so soon. I went back to his room and slept in the small couch there.

It was 10:50pm by the clock but I couldn't sleep. My dad was sleeping peacefully beside me. The moonlight was bright and dimmed right in my room. The stars were twinkly and looked like little treasures in the sky. I opened the window and down on the wooden stool in my room. I imagined myself flying in the sky, touching the stars and hugged the moon. I felt like staying there much longer. My mom's picture popped in my head. I could remember remember the first day she bought me my first bicycle. I fell down alot of times. My mom and my brother, Vincent would take me to the park everyday after school to teach me how to ride a bicycle. It took me time and efforts before I got used to it. I giggled silently. I remembered the day when my sister, Lucy decided to put a fashion show for Dad's 56 birthday. My costume wowed the audience and I won second place. Vincent was the musician at the party with his band, 'Suad'. I also remembered that tragic incident that tore my world into pieces. I got goose bump all over. It was a nightmare that I wished never came through. I saw a snake sliding around the bushes in the alley and decided to close my window. I laid down on the bed and went sound asleep.

"Yes"

"We need to hire a caretaker for dad before he gets back"

"But how are we going to find one?"

"I will make an ad on social media and make some poster to paste around the neighborhood"

"That's a great idea"

"I will also tell my friends if they know of any"

"Ok"

"Good night Mom"

"Good night, sweet dreams"
