Episode 1

——————Alex———————

My name is Alex. I’m the only surviving child of my father. I lost my mother and my brother in a fatal accident. My dad lost his legs and can’t no longer walk again. The accident caused me a a lot of pain and misery. My father sold all his properties including the house to pay of his debt and hospital bill. We live in a small apartment in a dark alley where it is difficult to sleep with two eyes closed.

My father has a lot of hope in me. He tries his best to provide for me and send me to school to get a quality education. One day, I got back from school and saw that the front door was opened. I got scared that maybe we were robbed by the Swash gang. I bravely went in and saw that the house was still intact. I went in and saw my father was sitting by the corner of the living room, holding my mom’s photo and looking outside the window.

“Dad”I called him

“Yes dear”he said cleaning his tears.

“What’s wrong? Why are you crying”I said and squatted down to his wheelchair.

“No, I’m not crying. I was just cleaning the dust from my eyes”

“Dad stop lying. You know I hate seeing cry”.

“Sorry dear. I was just thinking of your mother. I wished I died instead of her. That way she would still be alive”he said looking at the window.

“No, don’t say such a thing like that Dad. She died for a reason. God didn’t want her to suffer again. He didn’t want her to experience a life living a lonely alley, always keeping a close eye every night on every footstep at the alley. She is in a better place, resting peacefully with the angels and all the saints”

“But it should have been me. I was the one who drove the car without paying attention to the truck ahead. It’s all my fault and now can’t help you because I’m stuck in this wheelchair FOREVER”he said

“Dad, you are all that I got left. It’s true that you won’t walk get but you have all tried you best to make me happy even though how it may be. You are a hardworking man and a fighter that can doing anything to make sure that I don’t lack anything. Dad, I make a promise to you today that I will try my best to make you happy and proud. I will always be your pride till the day I die” I said and embraced my father.

I was playing golf when my phone rang. I missed the last putt and got angry. I sent my caddie to get my golf ball and picked the call.

“What’s so urgent that you had to ruin my game?”

“Sorry sir, I didn’t know you were busy”said the caller

“Why won’t you know? You are always busy gossiping with the other maids at the kitchen”I said sarcastically

“Sorry to call sir, but it’s about your dad”

“What happened to me dad?”

“He....he...”

“He what?”

“He had a heart attack”

“A heart attack? Where is he?”

“At the hospital”

“Okay I will on my way”I s itaid and hung up

“Caddie, we need to go”

“Why the urgent need sir?”said Clinton

“Just shut up and get into the car, would you?”I yelled
