CHAPTER 4

Elena stayed awake the entire night without sleeping. She kept playing the interaction over and over again and blamed herself for not realizing that Max and Noah were the same person. But how could she when their personalities were so different.

If she hadn't seen his face last night she never would have believed it. This was probably the end of her. She remembered all the things she made him do, wearing the bunny costume, calling her mommy while he crawled on his knees. The more she remembered the more sick she felt.

She really didn't want to loose her job. It paid well and she had already invested too much of her life into it. What if he held a grudge against her for this.

What's done is done and she would have to face the consequences of her actions, well both of their actions as he willingly participated but at the end of the day he held all the power as her boss and she could only agree with whatever he said.

Noah looked out from the window of his building, staring at nothing in particular. The coffee in his mug had already gone cold yet he still held it and occasionally took a sip from it.

He wasn't really surprised that much about the revelation. The similar lunch box had made him strongly suspect and even though their characters seemed like opposites, it was still a possibility.

Elena was a nice girl after all. It was fascinating to see that she had such a wild side to her.

He knew things were going to be awkward between them at work. With everything they'd done. The nudes, the sexting..... and then last night. She fit so perfectly with his body. Monday came around and Elena found herself standing in the elevator that led to her shared office with her boss. She was so scared of running into him that she came two hours earlier, finished all her computer work and went down to the studio, as an excuse to avoid him.

During meetings she would sit as far away from him and not make any eye contact, but she still made sure to send him emails of different projects that were being handled. Her tactic worked for only two days and she found herself trapped when he personally came to the studio where she was.

"Miss Elena. I need you in my office to discuss those files you sent this morning."

He looked very composed.

"I'll be there in a bit."

"It has to be done right now. Besides most of your work here done. The team can handle the rest."

She had no choice but to follow him. They walked together in awkward silence as they entered the elevator. Her breath hitched when he grazed her arm while reaching to press the button to their floor.

Her reaction did not go unnoticed by Noah, but he decided not to call her out for it.

He figured she was uncomfortable by the whole thing and he told himself he would not bring it up ever and just continue with their usual work like nothing ever happened.

Even though she was nervous, she still looked composed and professional. They discussed the project together and finished it. Within a week everything seemed to go back to how it was, except Sasha and Max were completely erased.

Not long after they had to take a flight to Florida to check on their other branch. They used Noah's private jet which was much more convenient. As they landed, a car was ready for them- taking them straight to The Setai, a five star luxury hotel in Miami Beach, Florida. They quietly entered their respective rooms, which was opposite each other.

Elena threw herself on the soft gigantic bed letting out a deep sigh. Despite everything going on she still felt uncomfortable around her boss knowing what they were not so long ago. But most importantly she wanted him, even after everything she still fantasized about being intimate with him. She couldn't count the number of times she'd stared at him when he wasn't aware, how wet she'd been just by watching his fingers move flexibly as he went through paper work.

He really was a professional through and through, considering the fact that he did not get bothered at all and continued to act normal around her like that part of their lives, that connection, meant absolutely nothing. She felt hurt by it but there was nothing she could do.

They spent the next day two weeks going through paper work and making sure everything was running smoothly. On their way back after finalizing everything, Noah had suggested they stop by at a restaurant to have a meal as a way of showing appreciation for her continuous hard work. She had agreed and felt a bit happy that they would get to spend some time together just the two of them.

Her happiness however was short lived when a beautiful woman dressed elegantly approached them and hugged Noah as she kissed him on the cheek.

"I haven't seen you in forever."

she said as she pulled away.

"You would if you'd bothered to visit even once. "

She turned to look at Elena.

"And this is......"

"My assistant."

He hurried to answer.

Elena felt her heart drop. He wasn't wrong about that but it still stung to hear him say it out loud.

She forced herself to stay composed as she greeted the woman before turning to Noah.

"I still have to submit the final report so I'll be on my way."

Before waiting for his response she walked out, hailed a cab and went straight back to her hotel.

She busied herself with work but when it was done she found her thoughts wandering back to Noah and that woman and the fact that he was never going to be hers.

When evening approached she decided that she wouldn't just sit around. She was an attractive woman who, at the moment, was in desperate need of sex so she planned to go to the club and have some fun, something she hadn't done in a while.
