Prologue

“Uh...” Is it common for brides to flinch whenever the grooms look their way? Many brides who were forced to marry against their will would, but to brides who had forced the groom to marry, it should not be scary.

But I cannot help it, feeling his large hand put the ring on my finger makes me cry internally and scream at myself for listening to Cyan. “Do you Clayton Kai Beckett take Kaleah Huxley as you lawful wedded wife?”

He took a pause and looked at the crowd, ah, his girlfriend is probably hurt right now. He shoots me a menacing glare before sigh, when is ‘I do’ reach my ears I can feel a path to hell has suddenly opened, this man is going to kill me in my sleep tonight.

If only my father wasn’t a scum, I wouldn’t have to stand in front of God and lie about my love for this man. And his golden-brown eyes wouldn’t have to look so angry. But his plot to kill me seems to be only noticeable by me only, ‘I now pronounce you as husband and wife.

 “You may kiss the bride.” The priest smiled at us, ‘there is no way he would….’ My train of thoughts is interrupted by his approaching lips, is he really going to kiss me? Didn’t he make it clear that he would never touch my foul lips? This is all Cyan’s fault.

But it is Melisa who made this happen, I suppose it is her fault. Who am I kidding, this man that stands before me had the power to stop this marriage from happening and he didn’t, so I suppose it his fault. There I go again, blaming everyone for my own screwups.

I act like I am against kissing him, like I hate how our lips intertwine so lovingly. But I know I don’t, I am to blame, I made this wedding happen.
