And the huge breeze blew by, I felt my alpha link and power strengthened. And–

Yesterday, I will say it was some weird kind of day. I felt strange. After I had blessed the festival and the huge breeze blew by. The pack link and connection was renewed.

After then we had a meeting of the elders but I felt something funny. I felt like I was connected to someone.

Don't get me wrong. I am not trying to get my hopes high for a mate, not when I just lost one. I will be damned if I have such wish. But... I felt a bond.

I felt like I was sharing my emotions with someone but after I slept last night and woke up this morning. The feeling came strong. Really strong. Although I could not feel the other person's emotions. But I felt like I was not carrying the leadership of this pack alone.

"Alpha, anything wrong?" Ryan clicked his fingers before my face and I blinked hard before looking at him with an arched brow.

"You have been in your head for some minutes now. And I have been trying to get you to tell me about the deal." He said and I exhaled.

"Is it possible to feel mated to someone but you don't know who?" I asked him and he stared back at me like I had grown horns. I waved him off and picked a file.

I know he will not be able to relate.

"Do you feel attached to someone?" He asked but I shook my head.

"When are you going to meet your mate?" I asked him and he scoffed with a shrug.

"My Beta needs a mate. The two leaders of a pack can't be without mates. One has to have. And besides, I don't want a playboy Beta." I said jokingly and he snorted.

"I am not in for a mate yet. And I don't think I can deal with it." He said and I nodded my head, understanding what he meant. He can't deal with the fear of losing her just like I lost mine.

I definitely won't wish it for my enemy to lose his mate. Not to talk of my Beta.

"Okay, okay. Leave the matter." I said and stood up.

"Let us go for walk. I feel suffocated in here." I said and dropped the pen.

"Remember when you always refuse to leave here?" He asked and I scoffed.

"Didn't I just say we should leave the topic?" I asked and he nodded his head and bit his lips as he tried to hold back his laughter.

"Better swallow that laughter." I said through the mind link, faking annoyance and stepped out of the office.

We walked through the pack lands and I sighted the Elder that was in charge of repair of the pack houses, Elder Matthew.

"Alpha." They greeted with a bare of their neck but what my eyes was fixed on the lady they were holding unto. I saw her some where. Where?

But she looked like she could not stand on her own. She must be their daughter because it was quite obvious.

"Elder Matthew." I said.

I eyed the lady hard from head to toe. There was something about this lady but... Something kept tugging at the back of my mind but I could not pin point what it was about.

"Is there something wrong?" I asked.

She was quick to answer. "I'm fine. Just some minor ache." She said and I was taken aback at the way she affirmed.

"Okay. I will leave you." I said. I have so many pack members. You don't expect me to know everyone of them. We walked away but Ryan being Ryan still decided to say some words. "She is really self willed from the way she spoke." He said.

I stopped and looked at him. "Do you want her as your mate?" I asked him and he cringed. Why does that sound even impossible to say? Or rather bitter in my lips?

"Oh, please." He said with a scoff.

"Then why do you seem so fascinated about her?" I asked, trying to make sure I don't give into to the tugging feeling.

"I just feel like that. I mean... Forget it." He said and I chuckled. He has always felt uncomfortable talking about ladies and I was not helping him with the way I was teasing him.

"You had better man up." I said to him.

It was dark. The place was dark. All thanks to my wolf abilities. Or else, I would have been unable see the place I was. But even at that, I still don't know where I was.

"Who are you?" I asked the image as it turned its back to me. The dim light only gave away her side profile with the shadow but it did not help as I found it hard to recognize the person.

"I said who are you? Why are you here? Why am I here?" I asked, looking around.

Then slowly the person turned around to me but then I felt some liquid on my vision. I jerked up instantly as it dawned on me that it was water that was splashed on me.

"What the hell?!!" I growled out loud in annoyance as I banged my fist on the table.

Ryan flinched and stood in a defensive stance as my wolf was on the edge already. I was so close to seeing that person. That person. Who was it? What kind of dream is that?

"Are... Were you having a nightmare in the day?" He asked carefully and I glared daggers at him, and wiped the water off my face. I was even dreaming. Gosh!

I exhaled and slumped back on the chair.

After we had checked everything, Ryan left to visit the pack kids while I came back to the office. But then I don't know how I fell asleep. I raked my hands through my hair and breathed out softly.

"What do you want?" I asked and he relaxed.

"I just came to see if you were done. But you were groaning as if you were stuck somewhere and unable to leave." He said and I looked at him in the eye.

"And the only way for you to wake me is by pouring water on my face?" I asked him and he rolled his eyes.

"I just sprinkled some water," He said with a half shrug and I glared at him even more.

"Anyway, I am closing for the day." He said and looked at me with concern. Without saying words, he understood that I needed to be left alone.

"Send a message if you need a spar." He said through the mind link. I snort a laugh and relaxed against the chair. A spar he will always run away from and it will end up like I was chasing him like some lovesick puppy. Or even a childhood best friends. No doubt in that tho.

What is going on in my life? Who was that person?
