V I P E R S

Third Person's POV

The moon shone brightly on the pack trees as they covered her shadow. She walked into the pack, making sure her steps were feather-like and unnoticed. She was here for a mission and was definitely completing it. Before her was built the house she would be getting what she needed. Her masterpiece. A maniacal smirk spread on her face. Exhaling deeply and putting her cloak on properly to cover her face, she walked briskly towards the backyard before peeping in through the window.

She heard laughter and voices chatting.

Shouldn't they have slept already by this time? She wondered as anger washed over her. Clenching her fist, she thought of what to do. She definitely can't wait for another hour. It was night already and best time to finish up what she started. She just needed the final ingredients and she is done but these people were not helping her at all. Not like they were conscious of helping her anyway.

She stood there, trying to see or hear anything.

"Okay, okay. Christian will be going on duty soon. We all should go to bed." The elderly voice said and she thanked her stars. The lights were switched off and steps soon faded and door made the locking noise. Breathing out heavily, she muttered some spell and appeared in her desired room. She stared at the figure laying on the bed.

Just when she thought that everything was done, she decided to come in and ruin everything. She raised her eyebrows in deep animosity as her face fixed into a scowl as she stared at her innocent looking face. She was not supposed to be involved. Hell, she was nothing but irrelevant. If not for her friend that had told her about what happened, maybe she would have missed her chance. But luckily, things did not go as they were supposed to and a door of another chance was opened for her. As a person that does not like misusing chances, she took it and here she is. All she want was just one ingredient. Just one and that was her hair. She moved stealthily across the room and bent a little to cut her hair.

She noticed something on her forehead but quickly cut the hair. She was in a hurry. Time was running out. It would be 12 AM soon and the deed need to be done before 11:59 PM.

"Have a nice sleep." She said with a malicious smirk as she disappeared.

She walked away from the backyard and put her cloak over her head as she moved towards the pack borders.

"Who is there?" One of the pack patrols yelled and she hurriedly ran and crossed the log of wood that indicated the end of the pack. She looked back and smiled victoriously.

"Wait for me." She thought with a giggle before stomping away in the dark night.

Lyra sat up instantly. Something pricked in her mind and she could not sleep. She does not know why. She sniffed in the air and this pungent smell made her wrinkle her nose. "Whose scent is this?" She thought.

How could the person find her way in? She just slept some minutes ago. She exhaled and scrambled down the bed. She stared outside through her window.

What's happening to me? Why do I feel like someone is calling to me? She thought.

She has been feeling somehow ever since she got back from the hospital. Although the headache already subsided, it did not really help her as she still felt down and up at the same time. How possible is that? What could be happening to her? Maybe she just needs time to clear her head. That is all. She needs time for herself. But she has been getting that a lot of that ever since she passed out of college. Maybe she should go for a walk. But a walk at this time of the night? Without a wolf too? She can't risk it. No, she can't. But her eyes seemed to lock with something in the dark. Out of fear, she moved away from the window.

What was that?

Connor decided that he ran with the pack patrols around the border. He knew that if he had to stay in bed tonight, he would definitely be struggling with missing Annalisa. He ran along the north border and walked slowly along the pack ground as his wolf was already tired after the run. But then his wolf, Tenor, suddenly stopped and looked at the not huge storey building before him. In fact his eyes was fixed on a particular window.

"Is there anything wrong, Tenor?" Connor asked.

Tenor has been unreachable ever since he lost his mate. He could not handle being alone again. So he carved back and only talks when he needs to. Or when he needs to exhaust himself, just like tonight.

"I don't know." He whispered and Connor sighed. He sure was dealing with a lot. The pain from his wolf and that same pain from his heart. Gosh! And it felt like he was sharing it with someone he did not know too. Maybe his mate was still alive after all. What else could be wrong in his life? He tried to seek a connection with the moon goddess but she kept declining it and it was starting to make him furious.

"Should we visit her grave?" He asked after a while of studying the house.

"If you want." Was his reply before he retreated to the back of his mind and gave Connor the control.

Connor started sprinting towards the sacred part of the pack land. It was where they bury the pack members but Connor had it beautified with ornamental flowers.

He soon reached the gate and everywhere screamed eerie. Without rethinking his decision to open up old unhealed wound, he strode into the grave yard still in his wolf form. Her grave was at the front and it was even more beautified as he was the one who supervised it. The flowers around her grave was shining brightly in the dark. Memories of them being together surged through his head and was slowly dragging him down, he struggled to move closer to her grave before he broke down and started crying. All over again. Like the first and last time he came here. This was second time he was coming here and it would probably be the last.

He realized lots of shit already. He needed to move on. He had a pack to rule. He knew the pack was feeling what he was feeling. He could not push them all out. He was theirs and they were his. He... He is an Alpha after all. And shits are beginning to dawn on him.

"Alpha's don't cry." He rose up and blinked away the tears.

"Good bye, Anna."
