Chapter 13: Sad Fact

Taylor's eyes widened slightly as he took in my words. He seemed to be surprised by my boldness, but also intrigued.

"What are you saying?" he asked, his voice husky.

"I'm saying that I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get this job. I can be your assistant, your confidante, your lover... whatever you need," I said, my voice dropping even lower.

I could see the heat rising in Taylor's cheeks as he stared at me. He seemed to be struggling to maintain his composure.

"Are you sure about this?" he asked. "This is a very risky proposition."

"I'm sure," I said. "I've wanted you ever since I first met you. And now that I have the chance, I'm not going to let it go."

"You have to be discreet," he said. "No one can know about this. Not even your friends."
