Chapter 5: Who is He?

A werewolf is seen still standing with his head down in the forest. Inside the woods is a small village where a pack of werewolves live. The werewolf pack is called "The Serenade Moon". These werewolves love a wave of peace and do not want to mingle with normies, the real human. Living with humans is complicated because they will likely ruin their happy life once they know that werewolf is real.

Jake, the pack's Alpha, returns to his village with a sad face. He did not think that the girl he loved did not recognize him at all. To him, It was strange. The woman had never acted like that before. Jake felt like he faced a different person.

He walked home with great disappointment. As time went on, his mind returned to restlessness. The entire werewolf pack greeted him with sad faces because they all thought the woman was dead. However, what happened was that the woman was alive.

"Give Jake a space," said someone in the crowd, asking everyone to go home. She took Jake's hand to enter after the public had disappeared.

"Jake, are you all right?" asked a werewolf woman waiting for him to come home. Her name is Maia Elliah. She is white girl with short hair. She was Jake's best friend since they were a kid.

Looking at Jake walking alone, she thought Jake's mate might have died. So, she tried to comfort him.

"Jake, we know that werewolves can die, too, right? Don't be sad. We can find someone else to be Luna," she said

Jake tugged at the corner of his lips and asked, "Does someone who rises from the dead ever lose their memory?"

The question made the other girl frowned.

"What do you mean?" asked the woman.

Jake sighed, not knowing where to begin. He was confused, looking for the right words to explain all this.

"Jake, you are talking nonsense. I know it's hard for you to lose your lover. However, rest assured that she is not the only woman in this pack," she said to calm Jake, whom she thought had just lost his girlfriend.

"You knew that Luna is irreplaceable," said Jake possessively.

The mystery of my death makes me believe that this second life is given for a reason.

No one believed that I had been killed. My family refused to do an autopsy. My mother said, "Who do you think you are to suggest such a thing? As a mother, I would not be able to see my daughter being operated on even after her death."

That answer, of course, hurt me.

"As a mother, don't you want to unravel the mystery of your own daughter's death?" I asked in a high tone.

Even the cornered mother finally attacked me personally, "Who are you? My daughter is a good child. There's no way she was killed. She did not have an enemy!"

I still insist on asking for an autopsy on Celine Young's real body. However, my mother was adamant about refusing my suggestion. Supported by my friends, my mother seems to believe that her daughter died of heart disease rather than being killed by someone else.

"Mom, I know we hate each other, but please, give me permission to know who killed me!" I shouted.

She looked confused by my word, "What are you talking about?"

"I am her," I pointed out Celine Young's body. "I am Celine Young. I knew I was killed by someone. Please, help me, mom," I beg her.

Nothing changed her. Now, she looked at me like I was a crazy person here.

I am upset and sad. How can a mother not want to know the cause of her own daughter's death?

The cremation ceremony was finally held without heeding my advice. Some of my mother's bodyguards even dragged me out because I was considered obstructing and damaging this agenda.

"You have desecrated the funeral home. Get out of here!" my mother shouted.

Several men with muscular bodies pulled my arm. I tried to fend it off, but I was powerless. I was dragged out of my own place.

I saw one by one my friends who came to my funeral when I was dragged out by my mother's bodyguard. Their gazes imply pity on me. Somehow I am pretty sure it is poison which killed me. Perhaps, someone among the friends who came to the funeral was the one who had killed me. I don't know.

As I walked out, I tried to remember all my past and thought, "Have I ever had enemies? Who could destroy my life?"

That question became a question mark that I needed to answer in my new life. As a result, I walked out of the apartment that night without any answer.

This dark night, heavy rain, and expulsion made tonight the saddest night I have ever lived. I do not know where to sleep tonight.

When I leaned my back against the apartment wall, my eyes found the taxi waiting for his payment was still there.

"Miss, you haven't paid me yet!" he said, sticking his head out from inside.

I ran into the taxi, giving him some bucks.

"Take me somewhere else," I said.

"Are you going to pay me this time?" he asked sarcastically.

I again took a few dollars out of my pocket and showed him what I got. Luckily I had time to take my money from my apartment.

"Where would you go?" asked the driver.

I am speechless. There is nowhere I can go. The apartment is the only place I live. I sighed while thinking about where I would spend the night. I really want to cry this time. Everything was too confusing and depressing for me. I just really want to go anywhere but here.

"Are you really going to use this taxi service? Or not?" asked the driver, waiting for my answer.

I took a deep breath and said, "Anywhere."

"Huh?"

He was confused by my answer. I was probably his most annoying customer tonight.

I repeat, "Anywhere. Just take me anywhere."

I have been running from the woods to the city, and my mental state is killed by Taylor's affair. I need a break from all this. My brain and body can't stand all this confusing and sad stuff. I did not care where the driver was going to take me. I feel like I have no energy to think or even talk.

The driver started to turn on the car machine. However, suddenly, a guy stood right in front of the car. The man makes the driver stop the car.

The strength of his hand to stop this car makes the front of the car dented. The man has strength beyond ordinary humans. We both widened our eyes. The driver and I were shocked.

"Who is he?"

The driver got angry and muttered, "How dare that man come and wreck my car."

He came out with a red face. While I shivered with fear. I vaguely remember the man's face. He is a werewolf chasing me. How could he find me? Who he really is?
