ALPHA RAVIEL

"So, the maid is dead?"

I asked Nick, who was reporting a murder case to me in Jared's office, as he was out for a meeting.

He nodded.

I tapped my armrest with a slightly furrowed brow. A maid's death wasn't exactly baffling as there were countless cases over the years where older slaves and maids died from old age.

But not once had there been a news that a young maid died and that too, from stabbing.

I could tell none of my brothers would do such.

Jared was too delicate and too much of a clean freak to have someone else's blood in his hands. He would rather tell Severin to help him eliminate a person...

Severin wouldn't do that, either. As ruthless and bloodthirsty as he was, he had thousands of ways to end a maid's life without stabbing her and he wouldn't even leave her before my office that way, knowing how much I hated such scenes.

So, who could it be?

"Do you think it's that spy? She even managed to enter without anyone knowing. Maybe she met the maid on her

SELENAWe got to the banquet, holding hands and smiling excitedly. On the way here, the maids and slaves had given us enough envious looks to dampen our mood, but for some reason, my excitement only increased the closer I got to the banquet hall. We were about to enter when Selene suddenly pulled me back and pushed me toward the wall."Ugh." I groaned as my back hit the wall. The pain penetrated my bones. Her eyes were cold. Her lips pulled up, and her arm gripped my neck on the wall. My eyes widened. Confusion brewed in my heart as I looked at her. "Selene..." I called with difficulty. However, her arm only tightened around my neck. I coughed with difficulty. "Selene..." I called again. Selene's jaw clenched, and her eyes flickered. She slowly lowered her head, and her eyes closed. "What should you do?" She asked. My brows raised. My lips were already quivering from the pain and shock. I looked at the guards around us, who were also staring at us with confusion in their eye

SELENEI watched Selena dress up before the mirror. Her beauty was blinding. The purple dress highlighted her exquisite beauty, and without doubt, I knew she would dominate the banquet tonight. I sat in bed, eyes fixed on her, and my fingers slowly clutched the fabric of the blanket on the bed. Selena... what do I do?What was I supposed to do? She looked so dazzling. My sister was like a born leader, existing to rule every woman in the world, and here I was... a pathetic killer. My breathing turned haggard. I didn't mean to. That wasn't my plan. I only wanted to stop her from harming my sister. I wanted to stop her from doing something unreasonable to Selena. I didn't plan to kill her. That knife... it was taken from the dining room. The only intention was to protect Selena with it. My intention was to help Selena so she would never be in danger again. With the knife in my hand and with me following Selena everywhere, no one could attack her anymore. Killing someone wasn't

SELENAI stared at Selene, unable to figure out what she meant by her vow. But in the end, I shook my head and helped her wipe her face. "It's okay. I'm your sister, and you are my only sister." I assured her. She was probably scared I would leave her again. Selene nodded, and a smile formed on her face. It wasn't bright but enough to make me understand that she was no longer as depressed. I stroked her hair and giggled. "You look like a wild cat." Selene imitated claws with her hands and made a biting gesture. "Is this cat cute enough?" We both laughed. Time went by this way. Selene and I focused on checking the gifts brought by the Alphas, and I couldn't help but shake my head when I saw the dress Alpha Raviel bought. All I could say was luxury. The dress was fully embedded with rare and rich diamonds. A purple long dress with silver lights glowing when met with light. "This is so beautiful," I mumbled, unable to keep my thoughts hidden. Selene nodded. She ran a finger a

SELENA I had no idea how I walked back to the room I shared with Selene, but before I returned to my senses, I was already standing before the room. Staring at the door, I sucked in a deep breath and tried my best to compose my emotions. Selene was fragile, and I shouldn't let her know about what happened or that it might scare her. Especially after the near-death experience. I had to be careful. I stood at the door for a while to steady my breathing, and only when I realized I was okay did I push open the door to enter. Stepping into the room, I saw Selene sitting in bed with her eyes lowered. She had changed her dress and was putting on a short black gown, but that wasn't what caught my interest...Right before Selene sat two big unopened packages. Looking at them, I knew they were the ones Alpha Raviel and King Jared talked about. Subconsciously, my fingers grazed the necklace on my neck, and a smile formed on my face. The Alphas were indeed good to me. Selene stirred and

SELENA I waited without blinking. My heart pounded violently. What would Alpha Severin do to me?His mood seemed to sour the moment I asked that question. He raised his finger and rubbed the dark blue crystal on the necklace hanging on his neck. His eyes carried mixed emotions that I couldn't decipher. "This... I don't know either." He replied with a gloomy tone. "All I know is that it holds the happiest memory of my life. It signifies the deepest bond between my brothers and me. That's all I know. But if you are curious, I think Raviel knows the truth about the necklace. He's the only one who knows." Hearing his reply, I breathed in relief. I wasn't in danger, after all, and I hadn't annoyed him either. He shrugged and dropped his hand. "I don't care about what truth is there. It doesn't seem to increase my strength, so why should I care?" He said with a grin. It was like the gloomy one a few seconds ago had nothing to do with him. I secretly rolled my eyes and hugged the
