CHAPTER SIXTY: Scarper

I SLOWLY opened my eyes, nothing hurts in my body. As I looked around, white lights, ceilings, and walls appeared before my eyes. Am I in the hospital? It doesn’t look like this is our room at home.

I forced myself to get up despite the weight of my head. Mommy’s sleeping pills are effective. I hope I didn’t sleep that long.

I violently removed the dextrose attached to me and forced myself to get off the bed to find my mom. I need to find her. I need to escape here and take my mom with me. We need to run away from him. I can’t take it any longer. I can’t be with him anymore.

Even though I was still a little dizzy and had difficulty walking, I forced myself to leave the room where I was staying to find out where my mom was.

I honestly don’t know which hospital I’m in and if mom is here too. But I need to hold on and believe I can be with my mom soon.
