"Ride me properly," I hissed. "I want this car bouncing softly." The brunette nodded, her eyes dazed, barely holding herself together as she rolled her hips against me. The car rocked gently with her movements. One hand gripped her hair, drawing a moan from her lips, while the other held a gun, my finger resting on the trigger as I swung it lazily outside the car window. "Just a few more minutes, young Don," one of my men said through the earpiece. "The target is still nowhere in sight." "Keep your eyes on the others. They should be within your range," I replied, my fingers caressing my gun as it itched for death. She continued to move against me, careful not to make a sound because of how quiet the area was. We were just on the outskirts of town. A huge, container-like warehouse sat in the middle of the cleared area, while my SUV was parked a short distance away. My men had surrounded the area while I remained in the car. As soon as I came, I pushed the girl aside and tucked myself back into my trousers before getting out of the car. I zipped up as I headed toward the container. "I’m coming in," I announced to whoever was listening through my earpiece. “Young Don, the target still hasn't arrived yet. Going in would be—” "I don’t have any more time to waste, change of plans. Let’s go." I said, buttoning my pants. Before I even entered the container, I heard several gunshots, which meant my men were already putting my orders into action. I shot a man in the leg as he ran out of the container. When I reached him, I grabbed his hair and yanked his head back, forcing him to look up at me before shooting him in the face. He slipped from my grip and crumpled to the ground. "Fuck, I should’ve brought my cigarette with me," I muttered, smacking the gun against my chin and liking how warm it felt. I pause at the entrance, cocking my gun before moving in. The air smelled of smoke, blood, and piss, and the dim lighting did nothing to make the place any less disgusting. I fired twice at the man to my right, watching him crumple before I swung around and drove my elbow into another man's jaw. He staggered, but before he could recover, I smashed my gun across his face, the sickening crack of bone splitting through the chaos. I charged forward, my eyes sweeping over the place and noting my men had the upper hand. The opposition was losing ground fast. One man stumbled backward, clutching his bloodied side, while another dropped his weapon and raised his hands in surrender. Within moments, the gunfire died down. My men stood scattered across the bloodstained floor, their weapons trained on the last two survivors, who knelt before them, battered and bleeding. “Don't waste my time. Where's your boss, Takeshi?” I asked as I walked towards them. “I don’t—” I aimed at his throat and pulled the trigger. He dropped dead before I reached the last man. "Your friend here," I said, pointing at the dead guy, "wasted my time when the first instruction I gave him was not to do that." I traced his bloodied face with the muzzle of my gun. "If you don't want to continue being a redhead, tell me where Takeshi is," I demanded. The guy smiled, showing his bloodied teeth. "You're so fucked," he chuckled. "Takeshi caught you this time." Just as he finished talking, I heard an explosion outside. I opened his mouth, poured two shots of death down his throat, then turned and walked outside. “Four people with me. The rest, stay alert here,” I instructed. Immediately, two of my men ran ahead of me while the other two followed behind. As soon as I stepped outside, black smoke greeted me. My car was up in flames. Squinting through the thick smoke, I caught sight of the brunette I'd fucked earlier, screaming inside as she burned to death. "Fuck," I said under my breath, "I liked fucking in that car." I barely had time to react before gunshots erupted around me. The four men who'd come outside with me were shot down in seconds, their bodies hitting the ground one after another. Before I could turn, the container door slammed shut behind me, and bullets began tearing through the metal walls from the other side. I felt cool metal press against the back of my head. "I wanted to blow you inside," a man said behind me in a Japanese accent, "but then again, making you beg for mercy would be a pleasurable sight." I sighed, my tone coming out bored instead of fearful, as the situation demanded. "You had enough time to run, yet you chose to blow up my fucking car?" "Shut your mouth, Soren," he spat. "Where are the remaining goods? Your Don refused to hand over my ammunition." "That's because you thought we were stupid enough not to figure out you'd paid with fake currency." "Fake currency? Are you guys playing dirty tricks now?" He paused. "Never mind. Maybe blowing your brains out and sending them to your father will teach him that I'm not someone to play with." He cocked his gun just as I twisted my hands behind me, preparing to shoot him. But before either of us could move, gunshot rang out from a distance. Takeshi screamed and dropped his gun, blood pouring from the hole in his wrist. His men scrambled, looking in every direction for the shooter, and as soon as I heard a motorbike roar, I already knew who it was. That fucking bastard. A grey motorbike drove towards us, firing shots at Takeshi's men. I didn't duck or move out of the way because I knew he wouldn't miss a shot. He never did, and that made me clench my fist. Takeshi shouted into his earpiece, "Naked Bullet is here! Everyone, fall out!" His men began coming out from the bushes. I pulled the second gun from my boot, cocked it, and started shooting. The air was filled with gunshots and shouts as the fight began taking a different turn. Takeshi tried to run, but he didn't get far because the grey motorbike blocked him, and shot him in the thighs. Takeshi screamed as he fell on one knee. "You know your Don is at fault here. He didn't give me my ammunition!" Takeshi said through gritted teeth. I watched as the bastard got off the motorbike and tilted his head. “I don’t care,” he said. Then he rolled his tongue against the inside of his cheek before spitting a bullet out into his open palm. Catching it between his fingers, he lifted it closer to his face and squinted at it. “This is supposed to send you to hell, but my boss wants you alive. Either way, you’ll be in hell.” He slipped the bullet into his pocket, then raised his gun and brought the butt down against Takeshi’s head, knocking him unconscious. I walked up to him just as he brought out a phone. "Come take him. He's knocked out." Then he hung up. "What the fuck are you doing here?" I spat as soon as I reached him. "That's not the thank-you I expected to hear," he said, tucking his gun into his belt. "Thank you, my ass. This is my assignment. Why the fuck are you here?" I glared at him, sizing him up. He only smiled before getting on his motorbike and roaring the engine to life. "See you at the mansion," he said, making a sharp U-turn, before driving away. I raised my gun and aimed at his tires, wanting to blow them out, but he was already out of sight. That fucking bastard, Rex.SORENI buttoned up my dark grey shirt and slid the black tie into place. I strapped the leather harness tight across my chest and shoulders. Gloves went on next, glasses with the little red rose last—ready.I lit one stick of cigar, placing it on my lips before tucking the pack into my back pocket. I wrapped my cold hands around my gun and walked out. It was past five in the morning, and the house was a bit quiet, save for the faint sounds of guards on duty.I walked through the hallways to the West Wing, the smoke from my cigar dancing behind me. I stood at the top of the stairs and tapped the earpiece. "What's the update?"Vinny's voice answered immediately. "The cars are all ready. Two daggers are in the car. Your orders are the only thing absent."I puffed out some smoke as I replied, "Send the snipers ahead. Let them get positioned before we get there.""Got it. But there's something I found out.""What?""Someone told me Rex came out of Don's office with some documents that day
REX“He still has the temper of his hotheaded mother,” Don said as soon as Soren stormed off.My head was slightly bowed as I fought every instinct in me to rush after him and punch that spoiled brat's face to a bloody pulp. I'm only tolerating his smart mouth because of my loyalty to Don and this empire. If he were someone else, I'd have put a bullet through his throat for all the bullshit he keeps spilling.“You seem angry.” Don's voice dragged me out of my thoughts. He placed his elbows on the table, resting his chin on them. “Are you angry about what he said?” he asked in a tone I recognized so well. A challenge. My fingers curled so tightly behind my back that my nails dug into my palms, and I kept my eyes on the wooden table so he wouldn't see how badly I wanted to go after Soren. “Truths are the easiest things I can swallow.”He smiled. “That's a smart answer.” He stood up, coming in front of me. “My word is final. You're going to be his right-hand man.” He sat halfway on the t
SORENRex didn't turn his head toward me, even as the cold metal of my gun remained at the side of his head. “I'd rather smell the blood of his brains than make him my right-hand man. This stupid bastard will never be anything more than a lackey in this empire,” I spat, tightening my finger around the trigger. From the corner of my eye, I saw my father approaching. “Every Don needs a right-hand man, Soren.”“And I already have someone in mind. Vinny will be my right-hand man.”My father stopped beside me without a word, wrapped his hand around mine, and slowly lowered the aim until the muzzle was directly against Rex's ear. “If you shoot inside his ear, he dies a deaf man.” His voice dropped to a whisper. “I call it the silent death.”Rex didn't flinch. His hands remained clasped behind his back, his gaze fixed on the empty space where my father's chair stood. He acted as though I wasn't standing beside him with a gun to his head. That pissed me off more than it should have.“Shoot,”
SOREN“Give me the keys!” I yelled at one of our men who had brought the car to pick up the unconscious Takeshi. “Give me the fucking keys!” I shouted again, firing a shot into the ground beside his legs.He jumped, dropping the keys on the floor before quickly picking them up and placing them in my palm. My jaw clenched as I unlocked the car, my frustration boiling over.“Young Don, what about Takeshi?”“Get another fucking car, you idiot!” I shouted before getting into the car and driving away. I clenched my fist around the steering wheel before hitting the accelerator and speeding straight toward the mansion, well above the speed limit.Rex. A.K.A. Naked Bullet. The man I hated more than a bitch who couldn't ride a dick. The man my father had adopted years ago and brought into our mansion.
