DELILAH

There is a twinge in my head as I try to open my eyes. My eyes feel heavy and my head starts spinning wildly. It feels like someone just cracked my skull and a cracking sound can be heard through it. It makes a current run inside my head, affecting my nerves deeply and then finally attacking my eyes so I find more difficulty in opening them.

A whimper escapes my lips and I feel the corners of my eyes getting wet. It hurts like hell, so bad that it almost takes more than five minutes to open my eyes, I do not count the time running, but I can guess because of the intensity. Maybe the pain made me count it like water droplets dripping leisurely.

I palm the side of my head and try to get up, ignoring the comfort covering my body. I crawl back, leaning against what I have behind me and holding my throbbing head in my hands.

I again close my eyes, breathing peacefully before I peer open my eyelids, my sticky eyelashes parting slowly, carefully.
