Chapter Nineteen.

Nathaniel’s Obsession

“We met not too long ago, but I like her a lot. She’s always on my mind,” Nathaniel said truthfully. He didn’t know if he loved her yet. The way he felt about Rosalyn he had never felt like that for anyone else, even Emily. He loved Emily. He still did, but his feelings were just different with Rosalyn.

“She’s my only child and I am just doing my job as a protective mother. I would fight or even kill anyone that thinks to harm her,” Maria said to him.

“I understand. I would protect my family the same way,” Nathaniel said to her. Only thing was Maria did not know Nathaniel meant it literally. He would kill and he had killed for his family.

Just then Rosalyn walked in looking at her mother pointedly and Nathaniel knew she was eavesdropping. He stretched out his arm to her and he watched how she hesitated before he walked into his arm. He kissed her head gently before he flashed Maria a smile that has her smiling back at him.
