Valentine’s POV

Fuck. Vladimir has arrived. It wasn’t supposed to be that early. Damn it.

I managed to dodge the war and went directly to my mansion to come and take Cheska away when someone attacked me. It was that brat, Anaki, Marzouq’s dog. He was in my house.

My eyes shot open, surveying the room around me.

My room.

Valentine’s POVFuck. Vladimir has arrived. It wasn’t supposed to be that early. Damn it. I managed to dodge the war and went directly to my mansion to come and take Cheska away when someone attacked me. It was that brat, Anaki, Marzouq’s dog. He was in my house. My eyes shot open, surveying the room around me.My room.In a rush of movement I moved from the ground and stood on my feet. A slight pain emanated from my skull, but I promptly ignored it. I knew Anaki was here, and I had to find him before he ambushed me again.I searched my bedroom with keen eyes, looking at every detail of the place. If there was something amiss, I would spot it.Almost in an instant I noticed the fireplace, and the trap door wide open. Next to it laid a long, metal rod, blood staining the pure silver. I narrowed my eyes at it, realizing the metal was supposed to be lodged into the blonde slave's arm. Yet there it lay, in plain sight.Suddenly, I let the uptight expression run from my face, and instead

"What do we do?" My voice echoed up to Sophia, sounding strong once again. "Have you gotten the key yet?" Her voice came down to me. I looked forward to the pedestal in the middle of the room, the box sitting atop it. "No. I fell and I didn't..." My voice carried off uncertainly. The truth was I fell and lost all hope of continuing. I didn't want to say it aloud, but we both knew I was weak. "It's alright." She spoke softly to me. "Can you get it now?" I shook the thoughts from my head and focused on the task ahead of me. I leaned up against the cold marble wall next to me, attempting to shift my weight slightly to my bad leg. Spasms of pain swept over my leg, causing me to hiss in response. After the pain subsided slightly, I shook my head and closed my eyes. I held my breath and took a step forward, limping heavily. Each time my leg moved another wave of pain was sent through it, but I had to ignore the endless aching. I trained my eyes on the vial ahead of me, barely blinking

Cheska’s POVIn my absence of words, Sophia took her good arm and attempted to shove me away. "Go." She told me again. "We don't have much time."With my arm feebly shoving against me, I started to inch my way backwards towards the entryway. I looked into Sophia’s eyes, which were now laced with tears. "Go." She told me one last time before I tore my eyes away from her and turned my body towards the fireplace.I tore my eyes away from her and crawled into the fireplace. The massive thing easily held my body, but with the old wood and metal holdings, it wasn't easy to navigate my way through. Pain came from everywhere in my body, every time I moved. Whether it was the wood sending splinters into my skin, my broken leg spasming, or the concrete brushing my healing scars. However I didn't have a choice but to keep moving, so I pushed on through the pain. The further I crawled into the opening, the darker it became. I could hardly see the tunnel in front of me, as the dark gray concrete

Cheska’s POVOnce we left our embrace, Sophia looked at me, expecting me to say something. "Well, whats the plan?" Her face was bright with excitement. I paused and thought of what we had to do next. Everything was happening so quickly. "Well, first we have to hide Anaki. Then we need to get the key." I told her after a moment's thought. “We can’t be fully free if this damn choker is choking us.”She nodded, and we both looked to Anaki who was lying on the ground, on the verge of unconsciousness. With a look of determination between us, we knelt down and grabbed him by the arms. As we attempted to drag him out from the open and into the nearby forest, he grunted, sending profanities our way. "I was going to get you out of this. I came back for you!" Anaki told me in between gasps of pain. "This is how you repay me?" He feebly fought against mine and Sophia’s grasps on his hands, but there was nothing he could do. Despite his extra strength, he was useless at the moment. I knew An

Cheska’s POV"We can't leave her here! He'll kill her!" I shrieked at Anaki. He dropped his arm next to his body, rolling his eyes. "I didn't come here for her, she'll just be extra weight. Now, please. I don't want to stay longer."Panic kept rising within me, as I thought of a way out of this. I wasn't going to leave Sophia here to face Valentine's wrath. "Can we at least unchain her? She doesn't even have to come with us, just let me unchain her and she can run." I pleaded with him desperately.Anaki growled in frustration, before turning away from me and heading over to Sophia. By this time, she was semi-conscious and blinking her eyes lazily. Dried blood stained her head and matted her hair, marring her appearance. As Anaki walked over to her, he reached into his pockets and took out two keys that I immediately recognized. He inserted the silver one into Sophia's chains, twisting it and unlocking the metal. Without the support from the handcuffs, she immediately started to fall

  • Never Again, Alpha   Chapter 130: Anaki's return

Cheska’s POVI uttered out a few unintelligible sounds before opening my eyes, hoping that they got the message. However when I looked above me, I saw they were still there, calling to me.I tried one again to focus, this time my vision becoming clearer. Blurred lines morphed into facial features, and blended colors moved to fill eyes and hair. I stated at the figure hopefully, wishing it was someone I knew to welcome me in death.when my vision finally focused, I was sorely disappointed."A-Anaki?" I croaked. He smiled above me, blue eyes glinting with joy."Cheska." The voice that had been calling my name rang out again, but this time I registered it as Anaki’s."W-What are you doing here?" I questioned him weakly. He shouldn't be dead yet, Valentine just left to go find him."I came back to rescue you. Your mate is here fighting so I can come and save you." He told me while smiling.I drew my eyebrows together in confusion. "Wheres my children? My parents? T-they should be here..
