Chapter 14: The King’s Wrath

The entire hangar trembled.

Cracks spread across the concrete floor as two overwhelming powers filled the massive underground chamber.

On one side stood Ethan, silver light burning in his eyes.

On the other stood the Overlord, his crimson gaze calm and terrifying.

Between them, the air itself seemed to vibrate.

Neither king moved.

But every creature in the room could feel it.

The clash of rulers.

Lucian exhaled slowly.

“Well,” he muttered, “this is officially bad.”

Raven stood beside Ethan, her blue blade glowing again.

“Ethan… listen to me,” she whispered urgently. “He’s stronger than anything we’ve faced before.”

But Ethan barely heard her.

His eyes were locked on the Overlord.

The monster who killed his parents.

The Overlord stepped forward slowly.

Every creature moved aside to clear his path.

Even the massive Alpha Hunter lowered its head.

The Overlord spoke calmly.

“You look just like him.”

Ethan’s fists clenched.

“My father?”

“Yes.”

The crimson eyes gleamed faintly.

“But you are far more unstable.”

Ethan’s voice trembled with rage.

“You murdered him.”

The Overlord tilted his head slightly.

“He challenged me.”

Lightning flashed through the hangar lights as Ethan’s power surged again.

“You destroyed our world!”

The Overlord’s smile returned.

“No.”

He lifted one hand slowly.

“I perfected it.”

Suddenly—

The monsters in the room roared.

Dozens of creatures rushed toward Ethan at once.

Raven jumped forward instantly.

Her glowing blade sliced through the first beast.

“Stay focused!”

Lucian vanished in a blur of golden light.

He reappeared in the center of the charging monsters.

Then he moved.

Fast.

Too fast for the human eye.

CRACK.

One creature’s skull shattered.

BOOM.

Another slammed into the wall.

Lucian’s golden aura flared violently.

Behind him, the shadow of the massive winged creature appeared again.

Ethan stared in shock.

“That thing behind him…”

Raven shouted while fighting another beast.

“Lucian isn’t human!”

Lucian kicked a monster across the hangar.

“Now you tell him!”

The battle exploded across the chamber.

Soldiers fired weapons.

Creatures roared and charged.

But Ethan barely noticed any of it.

Because the Overlord was still walking toward him.

Unaffected.

Untouched.

The monster raised his hand again.

Three massive shadow beasts suddenly formed from the darkness around him.

They rushed Ethan instantly.

Ethan raised his hand.

“STOP!”

Silver energy blasted outward.

Two of the creatures froze instantly.

But the third one kept coming.

Its claws slashed across Ethan’s chest.

He flew backward and crashed into the floor.

Raven screamed.

“ETHAN!”

The monster lunged again—

But the Alpha Hunter slammed into it from the side, ripping it away from Ethan.

Ethan groaned as he sat up.

Blood stained his shirt.

The Overlord stopped walking.

His red eyes studied Ethan carefully.

“You see?”

His voice was calm.

“You are not ready.”

Ethan slowly stood.

His breathing was heavy.

But the power inside him was still growing.

“I don’t need to be ready.”

Silver light burst from his eyes again.

“I just need to stop you.”

The ground beneath him cracked violently.

A shockwave erupted across the hangar.

Monsters stumbled.

Soldiers fell backward.

Lucian turned toward Ethan, surprised.

“Oh…”

He smiled slightly.

“There it is.”

The silver energy around Ethan became brighter.

Stronger.

Wilder.

Raven’s eyes widened.

“That power…”

Lucian nodded.

“He’s unlocking it.”

Ethan stepped forward again.

His voice echoed unnaturally.

“Every monster here…”

The creatures trembled.

“…belongs to me.”

Dozens of beasts suddenly collapsed to their knees.

Even the giant Alpha Hunter bowed its massive head.

The Overlord watched calmly.

Then he laughed.

“You truly are your father’s son.”

Ethan’s glowing eyes burned brighter.

“Then you know how this ends.”

The Overlord’s smile faded.

“Yes.”

He raised both hands slowly.

Dark crimson energy erupted around him.

The monsters that had knelt suddenly roared in pain.

Their bodies twisted violently.

One by one—

They stood again.

But something was wrong.

Their eyes had turned red.

Lucian’s golden eyes narrowed.

“Oh no.”

Raven looked horrified.

“What did he do?”

Lucian answered quietly.

“He broke Ethan’s command.”

The Overlord stepped forward again.

“Your power commands monsters.”

His crimson aura burned like fire.

“Mine controls their souls.”

Ethan felt the connection with the creatures snap.

The monsters roared wildly again.

The Overlord spoke calmly.

“You see the difference between us?”

He raised one hand toward Ethan.

“Experience.”

Suddenly—

The Overlord vanished.

Ethan’s eyes widened.

“What—”

The monster appeared directly in front of him.

Too fast.

His armored fist slammed into Ethan’s chest.

BOOM.

Ethan flew across the hangar and smashed into the far wall.

The entire chamber shook.

Raven screamed his name.

Lucian’s expression finally turned serious.

“Well…”

He rolled his shoulders slowly.

“Playtime is over.”

Golden light exploded around him.

The winged shadow behind him became clearer.

Massive wings.

Golden claws.

Eyes like burning suns.

Lucian stepped forward.

His voice was no longer playful.

It sounded ancient.

“You want a king?”

His golden eyes locked onto the Overlord.

“I’ll show you one.”

The Overlord smiled again.

“Good.”

He spread his arms slightly.

“Bring me your true form.”

Lucian’s wings of light began to unfold behind him.

The entire hangar trembled under the pressure of his power.

But before the battle between the two ancient kings could begin—

A loud explosion erupted behind them.

The mountain ceiling cracked open.

A massive section of the sanctuary collapsed.

Hayes’ voice shouted through the comms.

“The structure is failing!”

Debris rained down across the battlefield.

Raven looked up in horror.

“The sanctuary is collapsing!”

Lucian glanced around the crumbling hangar.

“Well…”

He sighed.

“That’s inconvenient.”

The Overlord’s crimson eyes gleamed.

“Run if you wish.”

He looked directly at Ethan.

“You will still die tonight.”

Ethan slowly stood again.

Blood ran down his face.

But his silver eyes burned brighter than ever.

“No.”

His voice echoed across the battlefield.

“Not tonight.”

The entire mountain shook violently again.

Because something inside Ethan had just awakened completely.

Then another blast thundered through the facility. BOOM! The lights flickered. Raven grabbed Ethan’s arm. “They’ve breached the outer gate.” Lucian cracked his neck slowly, as if preparing for something entertaining. “Well,” he said casually, “this escalated quickly.” Commander Hayes’ voice roared through the intercom system. “All combat units to Sector A! Repeat, all combat units to Sector A! The creatures are inside the facility!” Gunfire erupted somewhere in the distance. Screams followed. Ethan felt his stomach tighten. The war had already reached them. Raven grabbed a weapon from the wall and tossed it toward Ethan. He caught it awkwardly. It looked like a modified rifle, heavier than anything he had used before. “You know how to use that?” she asked. Ethan stared at

NEVER ALONE Chapter 12: The Blood of a King The archive room was silent. Ethan stood in the center of the chamber, still holding the faded photograph of his parents. His hands trembled slightly. The smiling faces in the picture felt unreal. For twenty-four years he had believed he had no family. No past. No one who cared about him. But now— “They died protecting me?” Ethan asked quietly. Commander Hayes nodded. “Yes.” Raven watched Ethan carefully. She had never seen him look this shaken before. Lucian, however, seemed unusually quiet. His golden eyes were fixed on the photograph in Ethan’s hands. Ethan slowly looked up. “So let me understand this.” His voice was steady, but anger simmered beneath it. “My father was an Alpha King.” “Yes.” “My mother was human.” “Yes.” “And some monster killed them?” Hayes’ expression darkened. “The Overlord.” The name felt heavy in the air. Ethan frowned. “And this Overlord just… woke up tonight?” Lucian finally spoke.
