Chapter 1

When I saw my mate Luke's post on Instagram bragging about doing chores, I simply liked it.

I could feel the pack shift—the gossip and whispers were already swirling.

That post felt like a mockery. Luke, an Alpha who wouldn’t even help wash dishes at home, was now posing in an expensive suit, pruning grapevines in the countryside.

He captioned it: "A strong Alpha handles both pack affairs and chores at home."

Was this the “territory inspection” he said he was doing when he left this morning?

Something in me broke as I looked at his face in that photo. Pain seeped through my chest like cold water. I took a deep breath to steady myself.

But strangely, I didn’t feel rage or sorrow anymore—only calm. Numb clarity.

I gave the post a like and turned off my phone.

Whatever storm was coming didn’t matter. I didn’t need the details.

All I knew was—I was done. It was over.

After a while, I turned my phone back on. Almost immediately, Luke called.

His voice was sharp with irritation.

“Alice, we’re all from the same pack. Why would you throw a shady like at Doris? She’s not well off—she’s an omega. What’s wrong with helping her?

You come from a big clan and never faced hardship. What do you even know about her struggles? Delete that like. Don’t embarrass me in front of the whole pack. If you’re not ashamed, I am!”

I couldn’t believe my ears.

For a random she-wolf… he was snapping at me?

“Next holiday, I promise I’ll go with you to visit your parents in the mountains,” he added.

That same empty promise. He had made it so many times I’d long given up.

Our bond would be officially broken after the full moon. Soon, I would no longer be his mate.

Before I could respond, Luke seemed to trip or drop the call.

I frowned, set the phone aside, and went back to the festival paperwork.

But trouble still found me—even when I tried to stay away.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed with messages.

It was the pack group chat.

Doris had posted a screenshot of my like and followed it with a voice note:

“Alice, I’m sure I’ve never offended you. Why leave such a passive-aggressive like?

Are you mocking me for being a weak omega?

Luke, our Alpha, even came to help my clan—but you? All you’ve done is push paper.

You’ve never entered the forest, never fought in a battle, never dirtied your hands for the pack.

What kind of Luna does that make you?”

Her message wasn’t even finished before the chat exploded.

Judgment flooded in. The pack turned on me over a like.

And then came Luke’s message:

“Alice, I demand you apologize to Doris immediately. Or else, you’ll be removed from participating in any pack activities for a month.”

Apologize? For a like?

His bias couldn’t be clearer.

And the pack… they’d made their decision.

Not one person stood up for me.

They called me names—narrow-minded, petty.

They claimed I discriminated against omegas.

I let out a bitter laugh.

But I didn’t respond.

Maybe this was for the best.

Maybe this was Luke’s excuse to remove me from the pack.

After all, it had been three months since he initiated the breaking of our bond.

Three months since he decided I wasn’t fit to be his Luna.

I wasn't shocked when Luke's world came crashing down. He had been blinded by Doris's innocent act, and his own stupity had ultimately led to his downfall. Six months after our separation, I received a call from someone in Luke's pack claiming to represent the pack. His voice was laced with fatigue as he explained Luke's predicament. "Alice, Luke's in trouble. He's hoping you can help him." I was skeptical. "What kind of trouble?" The werewolf hesitated before revealing that Doris had used Luke's signed documents to sell over territory and land tabt belonged to he pack to other packs. This caused a lot of issues as the pack tried for get them back and have been in a territory war for a while, Luke has lost his place as the Alpha and is in need of my help. He said if I become the Luna again, they could make Luke the Alpha again and with my powerful clan, they could supress the other packs.I laughed coldly. "Why should I bail him out?" Beside, why would I help the pack again? The

I had blocked both him and Doris amd Luke must have found out, because he deliberately had a someone from his pack send me their recent photos. These photos were eve more intimate than the ones Doris used to post. It was laughable. One of them even showed the two in bathrobes, leaning close together on the couch. These looked to be deliberately taken.Luke had posted them himself on social media, publicly announcing his relationship with Doris. After sending the pictures, the she-wolf who sent it, left a message full of mockery. It read;"Your own man ran off with another woman. You've really hit rock bottom."But I felt nothing when I saw those photos. My wolf felt No anger or heartbreak. "What a waste of time," was all I thought. The territory I was in had beautiful sunset, I would rather be looking at.I didn’t reply. Just put away my phone and continued my journey.I spent 2 months travelling to many territories, camping with other packs. The scenery and stories, each one healing m

"Doris, can you move? just to be safe, we should take you to a healer,"H parents asked as they helped Luke support Doris our the door. All through this, not one of them looked at me again. It was as though I was invisible. You would think if I was the one at fault. That was fine. At least now they were gone, would be no one to disturb as I pack..I packed my suitcase and headed straight for the airport. My first destination: a quiet little coastal territory.I received a message from Luke just as the flight attendant reminded passengers to power off their phones. It read;"Doris’s fine. Let’s talk when you get home."I resolutely turned off my phone not forgetting to delete the message before that.I just wanted a good night sleep and those thought of starting a new journey filledme with energy.I found a hotel to eat after I arrived. But I had not stayed a day in the hotel when Luke actually tracked me down at the hotel and knocked on my door. When I had first heard the knock, I tho

His tone was as gentle; a constant habit of his. Every time he and Doris crossed the line, he would always use soft words like these to coax me.There was once when I couldn’t swallow my anger and dragged him to the temple, demanding that we break our bond immediately..That day, instead of getting angry, he was gentle as he held me, apologized. In a soft voice he promised to change.Thinking back, I was utterly foolish to actually believe he would change and give up the idea of breaking our bond.I couldn’t let go of these seven years of feelings and he had figured that out a long time ago.. Relying on my love, he tested how much I would tolerate. But I won’t look back this time. It was a really over.I was silent a while, causing him to think I was hesitant. Color returned to his face as he walked closer and said in a soft voice,"Alright, didn’t you always want me to come back to our den? I won’t leave these next few days. I’ll stay and keep you company…"A sneer escaped my lips an

It confused me when he didn’t breathe a sigh of relief like I thought he would upon hearing our bond was broken.Instead, he looked panicked, disbelief flooding his face.“No… That’s impossible,” he muttered, his voice shaking. “I never meant to actually sever the bond…”Hearing Luke’s words and seeing his reaction, Doris finally understood—I had really broken the bond.Though glee flickered in her eyes, she kept her tone cold and mocking.“Well, at least you’ve developed some self-awareness. Splitting up is the best thing for both of you,” she said smoothly. But Luke wasn’t calm. He was still visibly rattled. Then Doris suddenly added, eyes narrowing with suspicion,“But since Luke didn’t even look through the papers properly, who knows if you slipped something else in there to betray the pack?”And in that moment—it all made sense.Luke wasn’t panicking because I was no longer his mate.He was panicking because he thought I’d taken advantage of his carelessness. That I might have tri

  • Never Call Me Back   Chapter 3

There was a time I dreamed of traveling the world with Luke. But he always had responsibilities in the pack.He needed to stay in his territory. He was always “too busy”—even for a short vacation with his mate. Each time, I gave in. I stayed behind.I felt sorry for how hard he worked. So, for seven years, I worked as his assistant, never once complaining. But everything changed the moment Doris arrived.Luke, the same man who had said he had no time for travel, suddenly made time for her—by shoving his work onto me.At first, I truly believed he was away on pack business. That was until Doris began posting photos on social media. In every picture, they smiled intimately beneath famous landmarks. Each caption oozed with flirtation and double meanings.I felt like a fool. All my patience and understanding—turned into permission for him to treat me however he pleased. In those photos, he did all the things he’d never done for me.The proud Alpha who refused to lift a finger in our home…
