Chapter 13.

"Mom, door!" I called out absently as I continued to stare at the screen before me.

The curser on the blank document in front of me blinked as if to remind me of the unproductive past two hours I'd spent sitting at my desk.

I didn't get it.

I mean,

No matter how many times I tapped my fingers against the keys, no words would appear.

No matter how loud I blasted the music at my earphones, no inspiration struck.

And no matter how many times I called for mom, that doorbell still kept ringing.

As it had been for the past 10 minutes already.

Whatever- sooner or later, mom would show up or the jackass at the door would eventually grow tired and leave and I'd finally have peace to write... maybe, if this stupid blank slate in my head ever decided to come up with something.

There had to be something in there for me to write. It couldn't just stay empty this long... right?
