Chapter Seventy-One

Nina’s pov-

Looking beyond my anger and my fear after Mavericks display of power or whatever that shit was, last night had stayed tormenting to my sanity. He had left like I had insisted he do but sleep wasn’t welcomed until I sensed him again. I had writhed in agony for god knows how many hours after he had left. In those hours that he had been gone I had spent every second of it in excruciating pain as the beast inside of me tried with all its wild might to be free. At first, I was fighting it, refusing its need to be released until I couldn’t no more, I didn’t understand it because by the time I had stopped fighting to keep it inside for some unknown to me reason my body wouldn’t make the change once I gave in to the need.
