Chapter 5 Devourer system

"Kid you are up, Here put on these spare spectacles I have", said grandpa Tim giving a spectacle to Ben and helping him stand. He checked the conditions of Ben and asked whether he was feeling any pain or suffering any other problems.

"No grandpa I am fine, what happened to the plant monster that attacked me? Is Ricky fine?", asked Ben with a frown but he was not feeling any trauma or tiredness even after the situation he faced.

"He is fine, but what monster are you speaking about?", said Tim in a surprised voice.

Ben started explaining what happened, "Grandpa when I tried to take the plant, the pod changed into a  monster with two tentacle-like things and it planted them on the back of my head and my heart and within a second I was brought into a pod and something like a membrane-covered me and then.....", stopped Ben holding onto his head as he felt an alien language entering his head and it slowly started to change into a language called Tamil which he could understand as it was one of the common language spoken in the state Ben was staying, Tamilnadu.

(Even though English was made as the universal language, people still chose to learn their mother tongue and other commonly spoke languages along with English. Tamil is known as the oldest living language of the world.)

Ben couldn't understand what was happening and he sat on the nearby chair and Tim looked at Ben with shock as he thought Ben was still suffering from the trauma and left Ben alone and went out to inform his parents and Ricky, perceiving he must have been knocked out after the attack and can't remember anything else.

"Can grandpa hear this voice", thought Ben and a reply came from the system, "Of course not your grandpa cannot understand what happens in your mind silly and you are wasting time, if you don't answer the question within a minute you will be made normal again", said the system in a mocking tone.

Ben still couldn't understand what was happening and he could see a screen appear on his front with the words

"Do you wish to accept the system which can grant your wish of changing how the world sees you? Yes or No,60 seconds remaining".

"Now I remember this is what I thought in my mind when I was about to pull out the plant," thought Ben as he looked at the message in front of him.

He thought for some time and when the timer entered the last 10 seconds he clicked No.

New words started appearing on the screen "Test completed"

"Huh, this is interesting I thought this weak Kid won't pass the test, he is unlike all the others who were caught by me ", thought the system and asked again "Kid don't you want to achieve your wish, I can help you".

"Yes I do want to achieve that wish, but that is a waste of a wish and it is not my goal, I want to change the world and I want peace to be established all over the world and I also want peace even with the alien species, I want everyone in this world to be treated equally with equity, even if they are normal, If changing the way everyone sees me was my wish I could have done it by changing myself into a cyborg why would I need your help," said Ben to the system without faltering in his words.

"Ha ha ha, Interesting Kid your selfless heart has made my interest in you grow, You have passed the test and you are the master of the Devourer system and I will grant thine wish," said the system as if it was a genie granting his wish.

Ben was filled with thoughts when Ben's parents and grandparents entered the lab to see him. Ben stood up from his chair and went to meet them.

They were shocked to see Ben smiling and walking towards them, after the condition he was in a few hours ago.
