Chapter 4 Did I die

Grandpa Tim put Ben in the regeneration chamber and grandma Jessica started to operate on Ben immediately as he was showing a very slight pulse, Grandpa Tim brought out an artificial cyborg heart, which was the only available cyborg mechanism in the zero families and they never had a chance to use it and never wanted to, but now he had to placed it inside Ben as it was an emergency, Grandma immediately joined every arteries and vein with very precise movements and started to give him O+ve blood from the blood bank.

After some time his pulse started to get stable but he didn't gain consciousness.

"Jess has everything on your side gone well", asked Tim to his wife wiping away his sweat. "Yes dear, It truly is a miracle that he survived, his body signs have also become stable, his physique has also increased slightly and I don't know how to explain it", said Jessica.

They both moved out of the lab to give some space to Ben.

"Is he okay ....." asked Ricky with tears in his eyes.

"Don't cry sweetheart he is fine, can you explain how this happened? " asked Jessie cleaning her hands and her sweat and soothing him as she remembered he was only 13 years old. Ricky started and explained everything even the minute details of what happened in the swamp.

They were shocked as they have never heard about a case like this and they were also shocked how he survived without his heart.

" It truly is a miracle ", they both exclaimed.

Ben's grandparents started explaining everything to their daughter and their son-in-law. Ben's parents were shocked at everything and worried about his condition, but they were calmed after they were explained everything that happened to him.

Ben's grandparents soothed Ricky and send him home as he had to go to school the next day, they told him that they would update him about Ben's conditions.

After sending Ricky home Ben's grandparents started examining Ben's body in every way to understand his stability and his mental health and they also wanted to know about the changes which took place in his body.

Ben's parents stood shocked at everything happening around them, This was the first time they were seeing them at their work.

Tim was examining Ben's body when he noticed the mutation levels were off the chart and the machine was unable to examine the complete extent of the mutation happening inside Ben. "Even though the mutation levels are off the chart his body is completely stable and he is healthy as a normal person", exclaimed Tim in joy and asked Jessie about the condition of Ben's heart.

"Tim look at this, Ben's artificial heart has disappeared and his cells have started to form a new heart completely absorbing the artificial heart, check whether he is still a human or he is a cyborg", said Jessie running some tests. "The cyborg mechanism has assimilated into his body, but his condition looks normal with no signs of pain, the readings show that he has become a cyborg," said Tim with joy as well as a shock as Ben was the first cyborg in the family.

"His brain cells have increased and every nerve in his body has increased their information acceptance which has enhanced his brain and it is better than even a normal cyborg's brain", said Jessie with a smile as this was the first time she had something like this in her life.

The more a human's body is cyborgized the more it becomes efficient and different from the appearance of humans, cyborgs control the change in their appearance using extra tech which synergizes their body with the mechanism and they appear and function as normal humans, But when they are in need, they can change to their cyborg form but this consumes mod energy which is required to keep their modifications in their body in check, if their mod energy goes below a certain level humans lose their consciousness and their ability to change into cyborgs for some time. Mod energy can be increased and gained in a cyborg's body by increasing the ability of one's brain and their proficiency in controlling the energy around them, as it increases the strength of their physical and mental state indirectly.

As the number of control over energy in nature increases, they can efficiently gain and control mod energy from the environment around them.

This was why Tim and Jessie were shocked as Ben's brain was already very highly enhanced and he would be able to master control over mod energy easily.

After 4 hours Ben woke up slowly in the middle of the night and was surprised to see lights surrounding him, he was searching for his spectacles and blinking his eyes as the light was very bright and then he shouted: "Did I die? Where am I?"
