Chapter 6 Truth

"Ben are you fine? do you feel anything different in your body? ", asked everyone as they thought he might have hurt his head because he was smiling gleefully even after a monster took out his heart and he had faced a near-death experience.

" Don't worry I am fine, what is this place? I haven't been here before", asked Ben with curiosity.

"Oh! this is your grandparent's lab and they only use it when treating patients", said his mother.

"Dan and May can you wait outside we want to talk with Ben", said Tim with a smile on his face and he also told May to inform Ricky and also asked her to make him bring his grandpa for his regular check-up when he comes here at evening after school.

"Ben go sit on the body check machine", said Tim and told Ben about the changes in his body.

"Does that mean I have become a cyborg, wait that's a lot to take in, before you speak again I have to say something....", said Ben and he started explaining about what the system said to them and everything else that happened, but he kept the part about the message he kept seeing in front of his eyes and how he can interact with that messages with his mind as it may seem weird to his grandparents right now, but he told himself he would explain it to them after sometime when he gets a full understanding of what the system is?

When his grandparents heard this they stood like they were struck by lightning, Tim slowly started breaking down after he heard about Ben's wish because this was exactly what Tim's father had exactly wished for and their family had to pay with their lives for his wish and only 5 of them were left alive in his family.

"Ben you don't know what you are wishing for, It's impossible and it has already created enough problems and left our family in this state", said grandpa Tim.

"But grandpa how long are humans going to survive with a war with aliens who they don't know about, we don't know about their number, whether the aliens who attacked us are the only aliens in the universe, we are also fighting among ourselves so what is wrong in wishing for peace," asked Ben with a slight disappointment in his heart as he learned from them during their teaching sessions that ancient India was a peace-loving country and stood for peace even when their leader Gandhi was shot to death, this shows their want and need to maintain peace even by laying their lives on the line as they didn't want to destroy others. Ben refrained from saying anything else.

"Ben I know you want to have a peaceful life like your ancestors but it is not possible in this mundane world with strange beliefs", said Tim with anger.

"Can he hear my mind", thought Ben showing a confused look.

"No doofus I can't read your mind, it's written all over your face", said Tim, slightly lightening up as he remembered Ben was only 12 years old.

"Tim wait let me explain it to him", said Jessie. Slowly starting how this family was numbered 0 and how his family was left with only 5 members.

"Yes I know it was Daniel Denver right", said Ben his eyes gleaming with the curiosity of what his grandma was going to say.
