Chapter 10

For Jeanette, this felt like never before. On a clear, bright day like this, Damon was sober yet cruel. All of that was something she had never experienced before.

"Damon, don't you touch me!" She struggled even more, but the more she resisted, the more violently the flame in Damon's heart burned.

He could not help but recall how intimate Jeanette and Elias looked when he saw them at the hospital entrance today. She had been all smiles when she was with another man, but why did she turn away when it was him?

Damon forcefully restricted all her movements and tore her clothes apart. There was no warmth at all during the entire process. It was more like a forced conquest and declaration of dominance. It was also at this time that Damon suddenly realized that he just went out of control.

The petite woman in his arms was pale. Her eyes with jet black eyelashes were tightly closed and stained with tears. She looked pitiful and haggard.

Damon's heart seemed to be touched by something soft, and an inexplicable, strong affection started gushing out abundantly.

His fingers gently pushed away her messy black hair that was wet from the sweat on her cheeks. A trace of inconspicuous distress and tenderness flashed through his dark eyes.

Damon suddenly stood up from the sofa and looked around. He then picked up his shirt, wrapped it around the slender woman who was curled up on the sofa, and gently carried her upstairs to the bedroom.

The moment Damon put Jeanette on the soft, big bed, she immediately huddled under the blanket and even buried her little face in the blanket, as if she was trying to hide herself.

There was a smile on the corners of Damon's lips. When he was trying to tidy up the blanket for her, he noticed the mark on her fair skin.

She muttered, "Don't..."

Damon frowned in frustration.

Did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed today? How could he be so rough on her?

After thinking for a while, he did something unprecedented in order to make up for it. He brought a bucket of warm water from the bathroom and dampened a soft towel before wiping her body gently and carefully.

Finally, he closed the door gently and left the room.

The housekeeper was currently cleaning up the mess in the living room downstairs.

When she saw Damon coming down, she quickly lowered her head and greeted respectfully, "Young master."

Damon nodded without expression and headed straight to the door. Before leaving the house, he turned around and ordered, "Make some soup and snacks. Serve it to her when she wakes up."

"Yes," replied the housekeeper, but deep down, she was very surprised.

After all, Damon had never cared about Jeanette before. Why did he suddenly care about her today? Could it be that their relationship had warmed up?

When Jeanette woke up, it was already the next morning. Her whole body was still aching badly. She could not even stand steadily, and her ankle was somehow aching too.
