Freya’s POV

I stared at his surprised face in confusion. He looked stupefied and happy like he found someone he had longed for, which made me ponder who this woman whose body I was possessing was to him.

“Gina!” he whisper-yelled as he attempted touching my squeezed face while I took a few steps backward. He disregarded my attempt to dodge his touch and cupped my face, after which he scrutinized my body.

“Oh, Goddess! You are alive,” he enveloped me in a hug that felt like his life depended on it. I stood still, not returning his hug.

Morgan had told me all she knew about Gina, the lady's body I possessed. She told me she found Gina by the roadside and before she could do anything to save her, she was gone. She coincidentally found me the same day and transferred my soul into Gina’s body as my body was as good as gone.

The crowd started to murmur in reaction to his actions. I looked at the man behind him and he seemed shocked, angry, and slightly petrified. He stormed out of the gathering angrily as the crowd gradually went silent.

“Oh, don't mind Rylan,” he smiled widely at me, revealing his purely white teeth. “Welcome back home, love. I have searched all through the Earth for you,” he said as he placed a kiss on my cheek.

I instantly felt it. I felt the pull and churning in my stomach. I felt the happiness of my wolf and the electrifying feeling coming from him. I perceived his aloe scent mixed with forest and chocolate scent. Lastly and surely, I felt the mate bond. Gina was this man’s mate. The last I wanted was a mate, I was here to rewrite my life and that of Gina’s. I smiled a fake smile towards him, but I could not help myself as curiosity got the best part of me. I began to check him out.

He was 6 ft tall with broad shoulders and chiseled chest. He had a tan skin and a well gelled dark hair. His nose was pointed and his lips pink with a blue eye. He had a dimple that made him cuter whenever he smiled and his jaw was well aligned. He was well dressed and emitted power, he was every woman's dream man and I instantly understood why every other female looked at me with jealousy, ready to bury me alive.

“I found my mate! I found your Luna!” Alaric yelled as members of the Pack cheered.

“Let the celebration begin!” a man who wore a symbol of a beta sounded, clapping his hands with a proud smile plastered on his face. Instantly, people started moving out in excitement and merry like they were heading for a party.

I looked up to see the joyful eyes of the Alpha, looking straight into Gina’s grey eyes. He looked so handsome and he seemed like a reasonable man, unlike Rowan, and for some reason, I was happy the moon goddess blessed Gina with such a man.

“Come on,” he held my hands softly with a glint of jealousy in his eyes then, he led the way. We started by walking at a normal pace at first and then we started jogging, heading upstairs. He looked elated and it transmitted to me. He was a breath of fresh air, peaceful and alluring with an amazing energy, one oozing of love and joy, transmitting into my sad heart. "Was I doing the right thing?" I asked myself, this wasn't the plan, but I knew part of the plan was to play along to understand my new life.

We entered into what looked like a bedroom and it smelled like him. It looked more like his quarters and as he was locking the door, I began to admire it. It looked extremely exquisite and it screamed of class. The king size bed was neat and well arranged with a picture of him and Gina on top of a small table next to it.

I was too engrossed in admiring the room that I didn’t know he stood in front of me. Looking at me like a predator ready to feast on his prey. He looked at me lustfully and I simply stared at him. It was obvious he and Gina had an active sex life and I was not ready for it, I felt like I would be betraying myself if I allowed him.

“You don’t know how much I’ve longed for you,” he said as my back hit a wall.

He placed his hands on my cheek and bit the down of his lips. He slowly slanted his neck and approached my lips for a kiss as my heart started beating fast. He captured my lips with his and encapsulated me in a kiss. As he began to play with my lips, I suddenly got the cravings for more, loving the way his lips felt on mine. Then, I returned the energy, kissing him eagerly like I was searching for the continuous sweetness his lips gave me.

He lifted me and wrapped my legs around his waist as I wrapped my arm around his neck with my back still touching the wall. I bit his lower lip and a groan escaped his lips, making my vaginal tweak at the sound. I slid my tongue into his mouth and played with his and for a split second, it felt like we were fighting for dominance. He squeezed my ass and I moaned, giving in and letting him take control of our make out session. He carried me to the bed and slowly placed me on it and then he smirked at me, possibly glad that I wanted him as well.

“Alpha Alaric,” someone called from behind the door. He snapped his head towards it with anger seeping through him. I smiled at him playfully. He was pissed that someone had disturbed our time and quite frankly, so was I. “You are both needed downstairs for the official mating,”

“We will be down in a minute,” he responded. He looked at me, sighed, and offered me his hands.

“Come on, we will get back to this” I took his hands, stood up, and readjusted my dress and then he gave me a peck on my forehead, “Let’s go get mated,” he added and led the way out.

As we were about to head downstairs, someone came to him and said, “Alpha Geri has requested to see you Alpha,” and he nodded.

He looked at me, squeezed my hands, and gave me a small smile, “Wait for me here. I will be right back,” he said and I returned his smile while he left.

I looked at his receding back and smiled at myself. I stood by the railings of the staircase and looked down. I was mated to a good man in this like and I was delighted I was in Gina’s body. I felt grateful that I was given another shot at life.

Suddenly, I felt a hand push me and I began to feel myself falling down the long staircase uncontrollably. I began to see flashes of my previous and present life. Pains went through my body and instantly, my head hit the ground roughly as I faded into the welcoming hands of oblivion. Was this the end? Was this how I was going to die again?

ALARIC.I have lost, but not completely. Gina did come to see me three nights ago, the night I saw her with that weird-looking man. I couldn’t hold it in, seeing my wife walking around with another man trying to protect her, from me. But I am her brother here, that’s what everyone thinks. After the incident with the man, I went back to my room, lit only by two candlesticks. It was dark and so were my thoughts. ZACK.I cleared my throat and stood in front of Gina, I felt her heartbeat race the moment she saw the man standing in front of me. He was angry, visibly angry and his eyes were tearing me apart. Gina tugged on my shirt and asked that I not meddle with what was going on.“It is nothing, Zack. He is just my…” she looked at the man and I could swear I saw her suck in a tear. She was trying her best to act…normal.“It doesn’t matter who he is to you, Gina. Hold Kelvin tight. Let’s see, who are you?” I asked again, stepping closer to him. He was about my height but he did not hit the gym like I do. I tilted my head and waited for him to work his frustration out on me then I would be sure to cause a scene.“He is my brother, Zack,” Gina said but remained behind me.“I already said it doesn’t matter who he is to you. He is commanding so much in you. You were almost trembling and your heart raced when you saw him. You are holding back your tears and that is not fine by me. Tell me, is he abu

I didn’t know how the day was going to play out but I had a great feeling about it.I hurried back after taking the grey pouch bag and clipping it around my waist. When I got back to Rowan’s room, Beta James was already done with him and was heading outside. “Don’t forget to meet me in the evening, if you owe me one,” Beta James said with a wink. I didn’t know he was serious about meeting me, I thought it was a mere joke and it was all done and gone. I looked inside and saw that Rowan was also about to leave. “Gina, I hope you heard what I just said,” Beta James repeated and I nodded like my head was about to fly off my neck so he could leave me alone. He smiled and tapped my shoulder in a friendly way. I liked how vibrant he was when he was around me.I went inside and saw Kelvin already dressed. I had picked out the complete outfit befor

ROWANI could barely breathe, having her so close to me. Her eyes shimmered in the dark and those glowing eyes looked up at me, wanting, maybe. Oh, I really hoped she felt it too, all the emotions running through me. I couldn’t take it anymore. I leaned forward and closed my eyes raising her chin–“Papa!” Kelvin’s voice got me so scared, I immediately dismembered myself from Gina and gave her some space but it was already too late, the boy was looking up at me, at us, exchanging his glances with Gina and then looking back at me. “Papa?” He said with a lower voice and came to hide behind me, hugging my leg. His cheeks flushed and he was looking at Gina from the space between my legs.“Who is she? She is not Mama,” he said and peeped at Gina again. Gina seemed embarrassed a little bit but looking at Kelvin, her red cheeks disappeared and she was now cheerful, not embarrassed. I sighed and took Kelvin to my bed and tucked him in.“She is the new lady who is going to be taking care of yo

  • No Longer The Naive Luna   CHAPTER 58: Dinner

FREYA.Walking into the dining hall, I could feel everyone’s eyes on me, or perhaps I was just overthinking the situation. The chandeliers above glowed with golden light, casting a soft warmth over the tables filled with guests. Everything was perfect—perfectly orchestrated, perfectly beautiful, perfectly suffocating.Again, this is where I grew up and I used to be the mother of the pack. I used to enjoy the songs and the dances whenever it was time for dinner. I always dreamt of staying here with my children and making them learn to blow a flute before they grow too old and seek lives of their own.But those were just dreams, weren’t they? Dreams that would never come true. My legacy would never be passed.I glanced around the room, searching for something familiar, something that would make me feel less like I was drowning in a sea of people who didn’t even know me and at the same time, knew me very well. Then I saw him—Rowan. For a moment, a flicker of hope shot through me, a remi
