Freya’s POV
I stared at his surprised face in confusion. He looked stupefied and happy like he found someone he had longed for, which made me ponder who this woman whose body I was possessing was to him.
“Gina!” he whisper-yelled as he attempted touching my squeezed face while I took a few steps backward. He disregarded my attempt to dodge his touch and cupped my face, after which he scrutinized my body.
“Oh, Goddess! You are alive,” he enveloped me in a hug that felt like his life depended on it. I stood still, not returning his hug.
Morgan had told me all she knew about Gina, the lady's body I possessed. She told me she found Gina by the roadside and before she could do anything to save her, she was gone. She coincidentally found me the same day and transferred my soul into Gina’s body as my body was as good as gone.
The crowd started to murmur in reaction to his actions. I looked at the man behind him and he seemed shocked, angry, and slightly petrified. He stormed out of the gathering angrily as the crowd gradually went silent.
“Oh, don't mind Rylan,” he smiled widely at me, revealing his purely white teeth. “Welcome back home, love. I have searched all through the Earth for you,” he said as he placed a kiss on my cheek.
I instantly felt it. I felt the pull and churning in my stomach. I felt the happiness of my wolf and the electrifying feeling coming from him. I perceived his aloe scent mixed with forest and chocolate scent. Lastly and surely, I felt the mate bond. Gina was this man’s mate. The last I wanted was a mate, I was here to rewrite my life and that of Gina’s. I smiled a fake smile towards him, but I could not help myself as curiosity got the best part of me. I began to check him out.
He was 6 ft tall with broad shoulders and chiseled chest. He had a tan skin and a well gelled dark hair. His nose was pointed and his lips pink with a blue eye. He had a dimple that made him cuter whenever he smiled and his jaw was well aligned. He was well dressed and emitted power, he was every woman's dream man and I instantly understood why every other female looked at me with jealousy, ready to bury me alive.
“I found my mate! I found your Luna!” Alaric yelled as members of the Pack cheered.
“Let the celebration begin!” a man who wore a symbol of a beta sounded, clapping his hands with a proud smile plastered on his face. Instantly, people started moving out in excitement and merry like they were heading for a party.
I looked up to see the joyful eyes of the Alpha, looking straight into Gina’s grey eyes. He looked so handsome and he seemed like a reasonable man, unlike Rowan, and for some reason, I was happy the moon goddess blessed Gina with such a man.
“Come on,” he held my hands softly with a glint of jealousy in his eyes then, he led the way. We started by walking at a normal pace at first and then we started jogging, heading upstairs. He looked elated and it transmitted to me. He was a breath of fresh air, peaceful and alluring with an amazing energy, one oozing of love and joy, transmitting into my sad heart. "Was I doing the right thing?" I asked myself, this wasn't the plan, but I knew part of the plan was to play along to understand my new life.
We entered into what looked like a bedroom and it smelled like him. It looked more like his quarters and as he was locking the door, I began to admire it. It looked extremely exquisite and it screamed of class. The king size bed was neat and well arranged with a picture of him and Gina on top of a small table next to it.
I was too engrossed in admiring the room that I didn’t know he stood in front of me. Looking at me like a predator ready to feast on his prey. He looked at me lustfully and I simply stared at him. It was obvious he and Gina had an active sex life and I was not ready for it, I felt like I would be betraying myself if I allowed him.
“You don’t know how much I’ve longed for you,” he said as my back hit a wall.
He placed his hands on my cheek and bit the down of his lips. He slowly slanted his neck and approached my lips for a kiss as my heart started beating fast. He captured my lips with his and encapsulated me in a kiss. As he began to play with my lips, I suddenly got the cravings for more, loving the way his lips felt on mine. Then, I returned the energy, kissing him eagerly like I was searching for the continuous sweetness his lips gave me.
He lifted me and wrapped my legs around his waist as I wrapped my arm around his neck with my back still touching the wall. I bit his lower lip and a groan escaped his lips, making my vaginal tweak at the sound. I slid my tongue into his mouth and played with his and for a split second, it felt like we were fighting for dominance. He squeezed my ass and I moaned, giving in and letting him take control of our make out session. He carried me to the bed and slowly placed me on it and then he smirked at me, possibly glad that I wanted him as well.
“Alpha Alaric,” someone called from behind the door. He snapped his head towards it with anger seeping through him. I smiled at him playfully. He was pissed that someone had disturbed our time and quite frankly, so was I. “You are both needed downstairs for the official mating,”
“We will be down in a minute,” he responded. He looked at me, sighed, and offered me his hands.
“Come on, we will get back to this” I took his hands, stood up, and readjusted my dress and then he gave me a peck on my forehead, “Let’s go get mated,” he added and led the way out.
As we were about to head downstairs, someone came to him and said, “Alpha Geri has requested to see you Alpha,” and he nodded.
He looked at me, squeezed my hands, and gave me a small smile, “Wait for me here. I will be right back,” he said and I returned his smile while he left.
I looked at his receding back and smiled at myself. I stood by the railings of the staircase and looked down. I was mated to a good man in this like and I was delighted I was in Gina’s body. I felt grateful that I was given another shot at life.
Suddenly, I felt a hand push me and I began to feel myself falling down the long staircase uncontrollably. I began to see flashes of my previous and present life. Pains went through my body and instantly, my head hit the ground roughly as I faded into the welcoming hands of oblivion. Was this the end? Was this how I was going to die again?
Freya’s PovNo! I shut my eyes as hard as I could to subdue the pain and find a way to get up. I touched the wall and gently stood up while trying not to get back up.Right, just when I got a chance to start afresh in the park, someone already wanted me dead. I opened my eyes slowly. I could feel warm liquid fall down my face, blood I suppose.”I cracked my next and looked up. Damn, I wasn’t wrong. It was Rylan who pushed me. He had a pretty smirk on his face as he walked down the stairs to meet me. I stood up straight, ready not to show my fork of weakness.“Hey,” a feminine voice whispered in my head. I looked around. It was more scary than Rylan who was coming down with an evil smirk. I sighed and turned back to Rylan, he was taking his time.“Hey,” the voice said again but this time it was louder. “Who are you?” I whispered and took a step away.“You tell me,” the voice said back. “Quick, pretend to be blind, get some blood in your eyes.”I didn’t wait. I turned around and touc
Rylan's POVIt still looks like a joke seeing Gina walking freely amongst us like nothing happened. This was impossible. She couldn’t have escaped the death I gave to her. I heard her breathing, and her heart stopped. Unless there was a witch around. I need to know exactly what happened. We buried her although it might have been shallow and we left no trace. After that day, they all thought she was taken away by the enemy and she was forgotten. Seeing her here with Alaric makes me look and feel like a fool. That is the space Alaric is occupying and having Gina by his side, things are really in his face.I sighed and grabbed a cup of wine. Something was different, however, I couldn’t place it. She had probably lost her memory, or she was acting as if. Now that she is blind…well, it is in my favor. Since she has no memory of who she is, I can draw her to my side and make her believe I am a pretty good friend.I grabbed another cup and stormed out of the hall. The ceremony was over any
FREYA POVAlaric was already asleep when I got back to the court. His legs started around the bed and his arms were wide open like they were waiting for me before he fell asleep.I picked out a chair and sat on it. Gracefully, there was a smoke pot on the table, exactly what I needed. Although Alaric couldn’t know that I could see, it would become hard to explain if he saw me smoking. Being blind hasn’t gotten deep into me that much. I have to learn how to be blind.“Hey,” I whispered after taking a puff of the stick I lit.“Freya,” my wolf replied.“You know who I am,” I said.
ALARIC POVI woke up to the scent of lily and love. I finally have Gina beside me and this wasn’t a dream. The maidens came into the room and opened the curtains. The sun shines through the window and settles on Gina’s face. Her face twitched and she adjusted against my chest giving more warmth. I kissed her forehead and tried to get out of her grip. Her hand around my waist tightened at the slightest attempt to leave the bed. I smiled and kissed her forehead again. After so many attempts, I ended up staying in bed till she woke up. I couldn’t resist the urge to curl her brown hair. They were messy which makes more attractive. Her lips were rise red and her beauty couldn’t have been more defined.
Rylan’s pov.“What, by the holy word, is Gina up to?”The words keep playing in my head as I say to have some tea in the tea room. I have been pacing around. Seeing her blind and with no memory meant I made myself feel a little better. Yes, that is what I thought last night when I saw her but seeing her again this morning made the insecurity in me resurface. Taking my jacket off the hanger and my hat, I lit a chunk of weed and made my way to the forest close to MoonHeart's pack where she was killed and buried. Where I killed and hurried herI am sure I remember every detail about where I kept her. Following the last sensation of how she was dragged away from the battle down to the part of the forgets made me remember the exact route we passed through. I touched the trees and smelt the ground. The sense of her hair dragging on the ground was still here. I found it. I stood still in the middle of the forest. The place where the guards dug and buried her was marked and it was covered w
Freya’s POV“How was your wedding night?”An unfamiliar figure stood beside me in the hall filled with beautiful ladies and men dressed to suit the occasion I had no idea about. I had been suddenly summoned to attend the ball with no real explanation as to what it was about. I see Aleric walking around the hall talking to different people. I put on my shades, I won't be able to pretend for so long. His figure was enough to recognize him everywhere he went. I was just standing somewhere behind the hall, in the dark where no one would come ask for a dance. I don’t know if Gina knew how to dance but I certainly do not.“Who are you?” I asked the fellow beside me without turning around. His presence gave a hint that he was taller than me, a lot bigger and intimidating. “Cap, holly molly, you really have forgotten everything. It’s me, Jack.”I turned around while using my hand to try and find him. He caught my hand and made me stand still in his front. “You really can't see?”He carefull
FREYA’S POVI have been sitting on a chair for about thirty minutes now, staring blankly into the room with my chaperone not more than four steps away from me. I got to know that her name was Mary, and we have barely spoken since she was assigned to me due to my blindness.Mary is a blonde girl with short red hair in her mid-twenties. She always wore a smile, but I am pretty sure she didn’t mean every smile, but it is just part of her job. She wears lavender, which is a very rare fragrance, but she wore it as part of her job so I would be able to sniff her quickly if I needed help.I sighed. “Mary, are you there?” I asked. Of course, she was there, standing against the wall
RYLAN’S POVI followed everyone’s gaze to the magnificent lady stepping down the stairs with a suitcase. It took me a while to realize that it was Gina. Her look was so different. She held the railings as she came down the stairs. She hooked up with Alaric the moment she found him.Her smile and aura were different today and it made me more curious. The voice I heard in the forest was nothing compared to hers. Perhaps she however saved Gina, wiped her memory, and set her free. Just thinking about Gina give me goosebumps.I shook the thought out of my head. I still need to find a way to get this position no matter what. To see Alaric climb so high leaving me behind is a deal that must never come through.
