I drove back to the office with my head still stuck on what had happened back at the store. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get Clara's shocked expression out of my head.

I got back and immediately headed towards my office. I was already falling short in my office duties, and I had already received a message twice from Aiden informing me that everyone was still waiting for me. I could tell a third would mean they've started without me.

As the manager, my presence was most important. I had the run down of events from every department in the company, and it is only from my statements and reports could others prove their authenticity. I wasn't yet done with everything I had on the computer, but I was confident I could finish fast and meet up before the others lost patience.
