The call I had put to Aiden failed, and I bit my lips in frustration. I had no idea Conrad was going through such difficulties. He barely showed any signs of depression or stress. My mind clicked, and reality struck me. Could this be the reason why he was drunk yesterday?

The dates on the papers definitely confirmed my theory. These paper were printed yesterday, which meant he had probably received the news yesterday too. It must have been so hard on him for him to resort to drinking. And I hadn't been providing the best supports either.

Even though w weren't together anymore, Conrad still looked after me. No matter how much I might want to deny it, I just couldn't escape reality. He had never for once left me in any time of need, and now I wanted to repay the favor.
