Chapter 66 Jameson

Jameson's POV

I climbed out of the car with Joshua clinging to me for dear life. His little head peeked out and looked around. His head moved in each direction as he tried to make sure no one was coming for him.

I could feel how terrified he was, being in a new place. Even though Zane and I both told him this place was good. He still needed to find out for himself.

I'm thankful there's not many people around and I can only assume Zane took care of that and made sure to keep the area clear as best as he could.

The only people I really see are the people moving our stuff from the moving truck. And a few people in the kitchen cooking, along with a few people sitting down at a table eating. They look like they're on break from patrolling.

One of the guys turns and his face lights up when he sees me. I smiled at Rick and waved. He stood up and went to move toward us but froze as his eyes glazed over. As soon as they returned to normal, he gave me a nod then turned back and sat down.
