CARLOS' POV

Blood dripped from my split lip, and my ribs ached where Griffin landed a solid punch. But physical pain was nothing compared to the rage burning inside me.

"What have you done to Nora's memories?" I demanded.

Griffin's smile was wolfish. "I simply helped her remember what you really are."

Something changed in the air suddenly. A shift in energy that raised the hair on the back of my neck. Griffin rolled his shoulders, and I recognized the telltale signs of what was coming.

"You!" I accused.

His only response was a low chuckle as his body began to change.

The change took him quickly—bones cracking and reforming, skin stretching over growing muscle, human cries morphing into bestial growls. Where Griffin had stood moments ago, a massive wolf now crouched, teeth bared in challenge.

I had no choice. I let my own transformation take me, embracing the pain as my body shifted forms. Within seconds, I sto

NORAI woke up to the sound of my cell door creaking open. Two Ancient guards stood there, their faces expressionless. I hated these moments when I coukd not read their expressions or tell what was going on. "Get up," one of them ordered. "The Elder wants you."My heart hammered in my chest. This was it. The day they planned to take my blood.I stood up slowly, my legs shaky but my resolve firm. The wolf inside me stirred, ready."Where are we going?" I asked, my voice steadier than I expected."You'll see," the second guard said, grabbing my arm roughly. They led me through winding corridors, up several flights of stairs. We were leaving the dungeon. We walked for a very long time, that it almost seemed like forever. Finally, we reached a set of massive wooden doors. They swung open silently as we approached, revealing a grand hall. My breath caught in my throat. There, in the center of the hall, were my children. My precious twins, held in some kind of magical bubble. They could s

NORA POV"Carlos?" I called out mentally, my heart racing with hope. "Carlos, is that really you?"The sound of his voice in my head nearly brought me to tears. After days in this prison, cut off from everyone I loved, hearing him felt like finding sunlight after an eternity of darkness."Nora!" His relief was palpable even through our mental connection. "Yes, it's me! Are you okay? Are the twins with you?""I can hear you!" My hands trembled with emotion. "I've been trying to reach you!""Where are you?" The desperation in his voice matched my own. "Are you hurt? Are the twins safe?"I pressed my hands against the cold wall of my cell, as if I could somehow reach through it to him. "I don't know where I am. Some kind of Ancient realm. They have our children, Carlos. They're using them to threaten me.""Have they hurt you? Or the twins?""Not yet," I told him, trying to keep my voice steady. "But they want to know who cursed my blood. They can't drink it—it kills them. That's why they

CARLOS POVElena's eyes twitched a bit as she continued staring at me. It seems she already guessed why I had to look for her. Biting my lips hard to control myself, I was prepared to speak when her voice cut through."Nephew," she greeted me, as if we were meeting for tea. "I wondered when you'd come.""You know why I'm here," I said coldly. I could hear her gloating, even with her fake smile plastered on her face. She inclined her head slightly. "Nora and the twins are missing. The whispers reach even down here."Her words hint at a deeper meaning. She was accusing me."Not missing," I corrected harshly. "Taken. By the Ancients. Your friends."Something flickered across her face. I was not sure if it was of surprise or if it was of concern. Nevertheless, that was the least of my worries. "The Ancients took them? All three?""Don't pretend you didn't know," I spat. "You've been working with them all along. You are the architect of everything."Elena stood slowly. " You are wrong, Ne

CARLOS POVA guard burst into the office, panting heavily. "The maid who was to clean the kids room just reported..." I didn't want for him finish. "The twins!" I suddenly remembered, my heart dropping like a stone.Sudden realization hit me, and wthout waiting for the others, I rushed out of my office pushing the guard down and sprinted down the hallway toward the twins room. My footsteps echoed loudly as I ran, panic rising with each step."Please be there," I whispered. "Please be safe."I burst through the door of the twins' room and froze. The cribs were empty. No Zack. No Zoe. Just rumpled blankets and abandoned stuffed animals."No," I breathed, moving forward on shaky legs. "No, no, no."I touched the blankets. Cold. But something else hung in the air. A strange scent, foreign and ancient, like dust and power and something not quite wolf.Elder Silvarum, and King Callum rushed in behind me, both stopping short at the sight of the empty room."They're gone," I said, my voice

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    It Would Be Him

NORA POVI paced the small confines of my cell, my mind racing. Had I made a terrible mistake by mentioning Elder Silvarum? I barely remembered my past, but what I did know was that Elder Silvarum possessed powers beyond ordinary wolves. If anyone could cast a curse powerful enough to make my blood deadly, it would be him.A guard walked into the dungeon to check on me. He handed me a glass of water without saying anything to me, and also a plate of food. I dropped the food to the bare floor. He snarled, and walked away from me. "Please, help me save my kids," I begged as he walked towards the door, but he ignored me. The door slammed shut with a final, heavy thud. I sank to my knees, devastation washing over me in waves. My plan had failed. The Ancient wouldn't let me contact Elder Silvarum, and now my children were still in danger."Carlos," I whispered into the emptiness, tears streaming down my face. "Zack, and Zoe... I'm so sorry."

NORAThe Ancient's fangs sank deep into my wrist, his cold grip holding me in place as he began to drink. The pain shot through my arm like lightning, but I bit my lip, refusing to give him the satisfaction of hearing me scream. Then everything changed in an instant. The Ancient's eyes widened. He jerked back, releasing my wrist. Blood... my blood dripped from the corner of his mouth as he staggered backward. His face twisted in confusion, then horror."What... what is this?" he gasped, clutching at his throat. The other Ancients moved closer, their faces showing the first real emotion I'd seen— alarm. The Ancient who'd bitten me fell to his knees. His body began to shake violently, the convulsions getting worse by the second. Then blood started seeping from his eyes, his nose, his ears. Every opening in his body leaking black liquid."Help me!" he screamed, his voice gurgling as blood filled his mouth. But nobo

CARLOS"I placed a forbidden curse on her blood," Elder Silvarum admitted quietly. "A protection spell of sorts, though 'curse' is the proper term. If anyone drinks her blood with the intent to use its power—they will die. Painfully."I remembered the fire surrounding Nora, the power that had radiated from her. "Is that what happened today? This curse activated?""No." Elder Silvarum shook his head. "What you saw today was Nora's true power awakening. The curse is subtler. It lies dormant in her blood, waiting. If the Ancients try to use her blood as they intend—to create new life or extend their own—the curse will kill them."Hope surged again. "So she's protected? They can't hurt her?""Only temporarily," the elder said gravely. "The curse has limitations. It will only last for three days before fading. And the Ancients are clever. Once they realize her blood is deadly to them, they'll find other ways to extract what they need from

  • Nora: Rejected Lost Princess    What Did He Do?

CARLOS Everything happened so fast I could barely process it. One moment, Nora was collapsing after attacking Elara. The next, Elena was threatening our children, and Nora, my Nora was transforming before my eyes.It wasn't a wolf shift. This was something else entirely. Her hairturned a brilliant silver with streaks of gold running through it like liquid sunlight. Her eyes even in human form blazed like living volcanoes, amber and gold with touch of red that seemed to move and dance like actual flames.Power radiated from her in waves I could feel against my skin. The air around her was filled with heat, and actual fire danced across her fingertips, spiraling up her arms without burning her flesh. It reminded me of five years ago, when Nora had first changed. Back then, her transformation had been shocking enough, her eyes changing, her strength increasing beyond what was normal for a wolf. But this... this was something else. Something
