After Mr. Martin said those words, we hurried to the room where Jin's friends were. We were shocked to see his friends and girlfriend lying and dying in their respective hospital beds. The Bettencourt family's private doctor was also there, along with several nurses. 

Jin asked the Doctor how's his girlfriend and friends were doing but, the doctor shook his head with a sad face and said, "The poison has spread in their bodies. We have done our best to save them but, the poison spreads too fast. I'm sorry to say, their lives will only last a few hours if they are not given an antidote..."
