I looked at Eva with a mix of uncertainty. What did she want? If she had something on her mind, she could have said it when I first arrived. Instead, she'd focused on who I was talking to. But it seemed like she didn't really need an answer because she walked past me and entered the room without even waiting to hear my reply.

Eva looked at me with an annoyed expression. "Avery, can you please sit down? I need to talk to you, and the way you're standing is distracting me."

I scoffed and headed to the bed, sitting down farthest away from Eva.

"Avery, about what I did, I'm sorry. Can we move on and forget it? I just got angry, that's why, with everything that's going on in my career. I'm really sorry. Can you please just not talk about it anymore? You'll forgive me, right?" Eva said.
