"What are you doing here, Jason?" I asked, taken aback by his sudden appearance."Wait, let me help you up first," Jason said, extending his hand to me. I walked over to the shelf where Jason was trying to hide from me. He must have sensed that something was off, but I wasn't about to let him slip away. I positioned myself directly opposite him, casting a shadow on his hiding spot."I wonder where Jason is," I said loudly enough for him to hear. "I'm not sticking around if he doesn't show up in the next five minutes." I heard some shuffling from behind the shelf, so I knew he was still there. "Finally decided to show yourself, huh?" Jason and I pull apart, still in shock from our unexpected kiss. I hide my face in Jason's chest, feeling my cheeks burn with embarrassment. "Avery, come on, look at me," Jason urges me.I realise that I can't hide forever and reluctantly pull away from him. "Oh my God, what just happened?" I think to myself. I was abruptly awakened by a commotion emanating from the kitchen, and I immediately recognized the source of the noise. It had to be Eva. I put on my glasses and made my way to the kitchen, curious about what Eva had been up to all day. I couldn't get in touch with her, and she was nowhere to be found. "Um, remember I told you something came up with Eva, well the mark is a result," I said, nervously laughing.But Jason wasn't laughing. His expression turned to one of shock as he realized what had happened. "Eva did this to you?" he exclaimed, drawing the attention of the cafe patrons around us.I quickly tried to calm him down, worried that his outburst would draw more attention.
