XIV: New York

I’m on my way to New York and I am a nervous wreck. I’ve been anxious all day and it seems to trigger my nausea in the worst way possible. I have no reason to be nervous, so what the fuck is going on?

“You don’t have to do this, Kaia,” Kira reminds me again and places a hand over mine. “I can always ask my mother to come to Las Vegas after they name Creed as the new Alpha.”

I look at her as if she’s gone mad. “You want me to postpone a meeting with the Moon Goddess and ask her to visit ME instead?” I scoff, unable to believe what she’s just suggested, but she sighs and shakes her head.

“No, but my mother will understand if you’re too ill to see her and it helps if you think of her as your family member and not the Moon Goddess,” she says while chuckling. “She seems less intimidating that way.”

I lean back in my chair and breathe out a sigh. “I think I’m gonna sleep for a little while; I didn’t get much sleep last night.”
